    Corsets?

I don't think a corset will take away the loose skin, but it sure would make your midsection look better.

    Weird question. I need help.

I had one stitch that stuck out of one of my incisions, it eventually dissolved and went back into the incision. I did not try to pull it out or cut it. The same thing happened when had knee surgery.

    Do you snack?

I eat 5-6 mini meals per day per my surgeon's recommendation, so each meal is essential a snack. I just make sure that each meal is Protein first, vegetable second, and a carb if I have room. I keep the calories of each meal at 200-250. My surgeon calls this "punctuated grazing".There are times that I will eat something in between, it is usually a piece of reduced fat cheese or some peanuts.

What kind of diet are you on?

I am not on any particular diet, just a Protein first, vegetable and small amount of carbs with each meal. I eat 5-6 times per day. I drink at least 64oz of Water per day. My surgeon kept it very simple, and I like that. I have a 80 -100 gram per day protein goal. That's it. Following this plan, I eat around 1000-1200 cals per day by my calculations.

Help! Developed peripheral neuro palsy !

Let's hope you can get some answers finally.....

    Ideal size?

I did not have a goal size, just a goal weight, which I have reached, but more importantly, a goal level of health. I wanted to get off my blood pressure meds (done), see improvements in my sleep apnea and overall sleep quality (done), and reduce my risk of developing diabetes (glucose is normal). Over the last 9 months, I have gone from a size 20 to a size 4-6 at 5'8". I figured that was a small bonus, since I am healthier than I have been for a very long time.

Help! Developed peripheral neuro palsy !

Have you seen a specialist like a neurologist for further evaluation? If not, I would recommend it since you are not getting any answers from your PCP and surgeon.

    Hospital

I brought my phone, charger, change of underwear and lip balm. The hospital gave me a toiletry kit. I wore the same clothes home that I wore to the hospital the morning before.

I get my Multivitamin caps, Iron (ferrous fumarate) and B-complex liquid from Amazon.com. I get my calcium/vit D from costco.

Which food tracking app are you using?

    I use the Fitbit app.
  11. I had one pre op. I was sedated with propofol, and the procedure was done in about 30 minutes. The only thing I remember was opening my mouth so they could insert a mouth guard. They took biopsies of gastric polyps, and that was pretty much it.

    Nervous Newbie Here!

It took me a week and a half.

    4 week weigh in...

So, that means you have lost an average of 5.25 lbs per week. I think that's pretty good.
  14. I am not convinced that these belly fat supplements actually work.
  15. I had a 2 week Optifast diet pre op. I was hungry on it, but muddled through. I was rather calm before surgery and was given Versed before they wheeled me into the OR suite, so I don't remember getting the gas, since the Versed tends to cause you to forget everything that happens after they give you the shot. The last thought I remember was hoping that I would eventually wake up.
  16. Amy, do you know why your gallbladder was removed during your RNY?

What to bring to the hospital?

I brought my phone and charger, iPad, a small toiletry bag and a change of underwear. I wore a hospital gown in the hospital and when I was discharged the next day, wore the same clothes I wore to the hospital the morning before.

    Support groups or counseling

I go to a support group run by the hospital where I had my surgery and I am in counseling. I am an emotional eater, but I am in counseling specifically for that. I go to support group to be able to share with and support others who have had WLS. I always seem to learn something new in support group, since the bariatric coordinator who runs it has a new topic for discussion every week.

My approval took about a week and a half.

    Insurance Pay After Surger

You would have to call your insurance company to determine that if they will pay if you file a claim.

    Exercise

    What does your surgeon say?
  23. Racewalker48

    Insurance Approval... How long?

It will vary by insurance company, so it's hard to say what an average timeframe would be. You could call you insurance company to get an idea.
  24. What does your surgeon's plan say you can have it? Every surgeon's plan is different, so I would start with him/her or your NUT.
  25. Racewalker48

    Chicken Noodle Soup

What does your plan allow? Otherwise, I would consult your nutritionist or surgeon for guidance.
