My question is on the hunger. I am 8 months out and lost 52 pounds. I started at 284. I have a 10 cc band and have had 2 fills Nov and Jan. I am going for third fill on tues 5/6. I remember right after surgery, the first month, i never felt hungry. It was the best. I know most of the hunger is in your head but with appropriate fill are you not hungry like you felt right after surgery or is is more the inability to eat much that makes you loose. Which leads to what is the goal of a fill, it is just less intake? Fran

Campbells select makes these great soups in a box, portabello mushroon, corn, and one other, I would take a piece of cooked chicken and blend it in the bullet and then add to the soup and then heat in microwave, it was my dinner daily, you could put fish or chicken as long as you pureed it, it looked like nursing home food but tasted delicious and filling. Good luck and congrats on down 14 that is great. Fran -
Hello ladies, I am an RN in NJ. I do in patient pain management an love it. I was banded in august, it will be eight weeks on monday and as of this am I am down 26 pounds. So I am pretty psyched. There are at least 4 nurses that I work with that have been banded and my secretary and one of the anesthesiologist i work with. He started out about close to 300 pounds and now is about 170 and he is 6 feet 2, he lost so much weight his teeth look bigger now cuz his face has gotten so small. I dont know how to find this thread again. i am new to this site. but we shall carry on with this weight loss. My mom had surgery and has been in icu this weeks and the pounds have been flying off. I leave for work at 630 and have been staying at the hosp til 8 or 9 and i dont each much dinner or get a little something at the hospital and i think I lost 4 this week. I know its not how your supposed to do it but I will take it anyway i can. ill nr more back on track next week. I am going to go to the gym tomorrow and sunday and try to get off another one cux i go to the md on thurs for my 8 week visit. There is a girl in our support group that had the band for 7 months withut a fill and lost 70 pounds. I am wondering how long I can work with it like that. Hope to find you all again. slimminmom

Hi, this is my first time posting and I am also interested in this thread. I was banded on 8/27 and I have the new 10cc APS band. I am the first patient my MD used this band on. He said that all the old bands were taken out of the or and replaced with APS AND APL. He explained to me that in addidition to the band going around a full 360 degress, they are also ribbed (for her pleasure) to prevent kinking when fully inflated. I always wonder how easy it is to put it in the same spot on every stomach you do. I am 19 days out and dont feel much restriction. I can eat almost anything, bread, rice, pasta, chicken, less size portion but not the half cup like people talk about. He said he will not fill me til 6 weeks, which I am afraid to wait that long. I think with the bigger fill size when it is not inflated it is pretty open. I dont know. Just my thoughts Slimminmom:rolleyes:
