On day 6 of my pre-op diet, (surgery oct 1)- I'm allowed a "small no carb meal" at night. I blew it last night, I ate 6 ounces of chicken Marsala instead of recommended 2-3 ounces... I also had minestrone soup AND the salad... Too much for one sitting... And now I went up on the scale by a pound... Hope it's just water retention from the sodium... I feel so guilty! ????

I agree, I won't miss all of the above either. -I won't miss the "fat dimples" in my extra chin , that also are enhanced by dark shadows when pictures are taken of me in daylight... -won't miss laying on beach in south florida, trying to tan my big tummy by pulling my fat girls bathing suit top up to the bra and scaring small children when I do so ???? -won't miss only having 1- 2 positions available during "intimate moments" with hubby... - won't miss moving stomach out of way to shave legs n such... - I do miss wearing cute heels to work, and want to fit cute fall boots that zip all the way up my calves... List goes on!

Hi all! Got a surgery date of oct 1! Start my liver reduction diet on the 17th... Looking forward to this journey!

Hope you get your surgery date soon! We with bcbs of wny (medicaid based products) have to wait for the green light from ny to let ecmc take our insurances.... So even though I was recently approved, I'm on a waiting list until this happens (as others are before me). But I'm hoping/praying for a July surgery... *fingers crossed*

Anyone else on the "wait list" for synergy with medicaid insurance?

Yay!!! Just got approved today!!! Just have to wait for a surgery date - looks like June July . I'm sooooo happy!! Anyone start changing thier eating habits before surgery ?

hi all, newbie here. Been wanting to write this for awhile now. Completed all pre-op conditions for insurance, (psych eval, nut classes, blood work, etc.) and I put in a call to see when the coordinator will submit my file to insurance. My problem is this; I have bcbs of wny and the turn around time can be up to 3 weeks for an answer.... AND NOW the bariatric center tells me I also have to wait for the surgeons hospital (ecmc) to approve patients with bcbs (medicaid based) , because ecmc doesn't currently take my insurance..... Sooooo could you have told me this sooner? They have "a list" of approved patients with my same situation that I will be put on, if I'm approved for surgery... Thanks for gaining my trust and getting me to the finish line.... Just so I can wait and wait and wait time more! I'm completely frustrated.... All I want is to try and get my health back, I have diabetes, severe apnea, high cholesterol, Astaire, and a new developing case of restless leg syndrome.... Oh did I mention the depression and insomnia associated with that? All these (or most) are attributed to being overweight.... Thanks for reading..... Anyone else wait a long time? Did you diet exercize on your own? Is it ok to start losing weight and not get denied later? So many things running through my head right now....
