Dont feel prepared
Jennifer2575 replied to marymary1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. After I had the surgery- I'm 7 days post op. A nurse who was caring for me asked me how long was my process before I had the surgery. I started last sept -so 8 months. I told her I'm glad I had all 8 months to research, prepare for what I will be giving up but in return gaining. People need the time to really come to terms with this. I'm happy I did this. I won't be happy if one day I stop following the rules and fail. This will be a daily change that needs to be done correctly every day. Your smart to give yourself more time to prepare. You won't regret having the procedure- but if your head isn't in the game you gotta do it when it is. Goodluck!! -

Jennifer2575 replied to DeniseNCC1701's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Up the protein just a tad and give it a week. Walk walk walk! -
. Shakes count towards the 64 ounces. If the fluids are easier to get down the tule is liquids before protein. I'm 7 days post op and I get 1 shake and about 30 ounces of clear liquids down. It's a job!! Today I'm back to work!

Sleeping issues, anyone else?
Jennifer2575 replied to Jennifer2575's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. I use a huge pregnancy pillow but the stomach pains still exist. I ended up sleeping pretty decent last night but I slept half sitting up half laying down so my back is not happy about it this am! -
I am 6 days post op. Tonight is the 2nd night that I have been able to lay in bed on my side to sleep- however I get the stomach spasms as if I drank to fast or too much. This happening to anyone else? It makes it really hard to fall asleep. I end up finally falling asleep after 2 hours of fighting it or out of sheer exhaustion from taking to long to sleep.

. I was sleeved on April 8th! 6 days post op. The surgery went great- in the recovery room I was miserable. The has is really really bad!! But each day I'm getting better and better! What did u think of the sleep study? -
. Awesome! Thanks for sharing! Good to know all the places I can dine that fall in line with what we should eat and tastes good!!

It's possible your mistaking gas for hunger but I am 6 days post op and def hungry. Once I get a protein shake down or some chicken broth it's gone but I'm def hungry. I was told once we start the mushy phase we feel the restriction and less hunger. At the end of the day I'm not dying to eat but the smells of certain food really make me hungry. Today I was able to eat a sugar free jello- it took about 10 mins to eat but I felt really full After it. I too worry about the hormone that supposedly decreases our hunger? So far not feeling it?

worst day EVER!
Jennifer2575 replied to Elizabeth Gonzalez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. It will be the same post op for 2 weeks while your stomach swelling goes down and as you heel you will be tempted to try food because surgery is over and no risk of insurance denial/doctor not doing it. So pre op diet is so important to get your head in the game! You have 1 week to go!! Great job so far!! -

returning back to work
Jennifer2575 replied to DOMINICANA88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm back to work 6 days post op. I make sure I drink my fluids, add flavorless protein to them if I can't get a protein shake down. I'm in a desk job and going back was not a problem AND I thought about good less keeping busy!! -
i was sleeved on the 8th and I experience the same. Your stomach is swollen and heeling so you will feel this. I take a deep breath and wait for it to pass.

Doubting...please help
Jennifer2575 replied to hopeful2loose2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 days post op. I can tell all of you the pre op diet does get better by day 3. You really need to clear your mind and follow through- it will shrink your liver, help you lose weight prior to surgery. Reason 3- you will be required to do it post op and I'm here to tell you, you will need will power then because you will be hungry at times on the full liquids. They say the restriction and being full doesn't start until mushy phase. So you have to get your head in the game cause it will be quite some time before your eating anything like an egg or creamed soup etc. I have lost 28 pounds pre op diet/ 6 days post op. It's worth it. I'm just being honest so you can know what the reality is and fight for it!! Goodluck!! -

. The dull headache, fatigue and napping seem about right- but not the fever but it's possible your body is just fighting a cold or something, have you taken any liquid fever reducer to see if it helps? -

So why do people ask if you meant to lose weight?
Jennifer2575 replied to NMJG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
. Either the comments come from a socially awkward person or a jealous one. The comment should be you look fantastic- and I bet you do!!!!! -
How are the ones who got sleeved the first week in april?
Jennifer2575 replied to Tammylb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
. I'm hungry as well!! Chicken broth helps with that! I'm only getting in 1 protein shake and 20 ounces of liquid. I think once I can get down the 64 and the 2 shakes the hunger will subside. They say you feel more restriction with mushy food phase. Eggs, creamed soup. -

little worried
Jennifer2575 replied to Madelyne Bonthron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. Same here. I has surgery the 8th. So far I can get 1 protein shake and about 20 ounces of fluid and 1 sugar free Popsicle. Has to be Gatorade or vitamin water. I do have broth for dinner- strained chicken noodle soup or wonton and it's easy to get down warm and delicious cause it's not sweet. I use a baby spoon to sip cause if I take to big of a drink or sometimes even the soup I feel that same feeling in my stomach. Remember it is still swollen. Gets better each day!
