Ladies --
I wanted to share a cool solution that someone shared with me for clothes in the meantime, while you are losing weight and nothing fits...It's called Gywnnie Bee. It is like Netflix for clothes. You decide how many pieces of clothing you want at one time. It is $80 a month to have 3 items at a time. You can pick anywhere from 1-8 items at a time. They have sizes from 10-30. You go on their website and fill up your virtual closet and then they ship you your items. They send you return bags to ship back the items. I got my first shipment on Monday. 2 of the items didn't look great, so I sent them back immediately. One of the items, I wore yesterday and got lots of compliments. I already have 2 new dresses on the way.
They have a lot of dresses. I am a consultant and meet with clients often, so I need to look as professional as possible. I was feeling frumpy in my clothes that are getting too big. I know, what a great problem to have! I don't want to buy a new wardrobe in every size. And I wasn't finding lots of cute stuff at the thrift store. So even those this is costing me $80 a month, I think that this is a good solution for me. Plus, I feel pretty and confident wearing clothes that show off my new body
Hopefully some of you find this helpful. Here is the link below to their website. Good luck to all!

Hi All,
Is anyone interested in getting together for a clothing exchange in the Chicago area? I have lots of 30/28/26 size clothes ready to go. Let me know if interested.

Love dr. Rantis. Surgery went very well! Just adjusting now to this new life. It is so weird having to remember to eat. Where do you live?
-
Cool! Where in Chicago? How is your recovery going?

Hi All,
I met a great friend on here that has been an amazing support. Unfortunately, she is moving away. I know that we will still talk all the time. But I am looking to meet some new friends locally who are going through this process.
I am 37, married, and live in the NW burbs. I was sleeved on 6/2.
PM me if you are looking for a new buddy!
-
Nukleus- are you in the NW burbs? I am in Arlington Heights.

Hi all!
I was sleeved on June 2nd. The pain is going away. I am having a hard time getting all of my liquids in. I either forget or am not hungry. So that's my focus! Good luck!

It makes me very sad that you don't have support. But huge kudos to you for moving ahead. I just got home on Wed from surgery. You will need someone to drive you home and for the next couple of days. You cannot drive while on pain meds. I would look for a friend in your area going through this. I met a great friend on this site who just happens to live 10 min away. She has been an awesome support to me. Good luck!!!

It does get easier once you find what you like. I just finished 14 days of a liquid diet. Surgery is tomorrow.
My fav shakes are: Syntrax nectar- fuzzy navel, muscle milk light- cake batter, and the Bariatric Advantage - vanilla. I added Peanut Butter and bananas sometimes if I was starving.
It's gonna be worth it!! Good luck.

Hey all --
Hope that everyone is having a great memorial day! Sounds like there are several people who are looking to meet up. I have made a really good friend from this website and we have been great support for each other. I am in the Arlington Heights/Palatine area. Does anyone want to grab coffee on Saturday morning?
My surgery date is June 2nd. Coming soon!

Mandy -- I will definitely be looking for a workout partner. I do work with a personal trainer now.
How has the recovery been?

Mandy -- That is so exciting! I just got my date.....6/2. I am currently in 28's and 26's. I have lots of 24's that I can't wait to get into. I am in Arlington Heights. We are neighbors!

I have terrible pain in my feet from carrying all of this weight around. Carrying around 350lbs really hurts, especially when I work out hard or walk a lot. Just wondering when the pain goes away.
I got cleared for surgery today and am waiting to be scheduled!
I am doing a 5k on 5/22 and dreading it because my feet are going to hurt so badly. Any thoughts or tips??

Maybe we can organize our own exchange this summer? I would totally be up for helping schedule that. I am in Arlington Heights. There are a ton of thrift stores that I would be up for checking out too!

Happy Easter Everyone! I am picking up the CPAP machine on Friday and then I have the dietary nutrition class on 5/3. Then I am done with the requirement. I am really hoping for a 1st week of June date. I have BCBSMI insurance. The Dr's office had to actually mail in my paperwork for approval. So 1990's! Hoping to get approval this week.

Has anyone dealt with an Iron deficiency issue? I am taking iron supplements, but my iron levels aren't getting better. Trying to eat more beef. My PCP wants me to get an EGD done. Has anyone dealt with similar issues?
Clothes solution in the meantime....

Yes! The buying option is cool too! And reasonable. The dress that I wore yesterday was $35 to buy. Plus, it lets you try different styles that you might not really try. I am getting 2 more dresses tomorrow and can't wait!
