Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

@@butterfly125 ECMC was the only option for me as that is the only place my doctor does surgery. They used to be out of sisters, changed to ECMC. I have Dr. Cavaretta through Synergy. They built new suites, they are actually on the transplant floor. They were wonderful and private! They did give scripts for pain meds and heartburn etc, before you leave. I know everyone is different, I was not in a lot of pain. Only pain was the gas! I had pain meds at night just to sleep because the gas was so uncomfortable.

I had surgery May of 2014 at ECMC. It was a great experience. They were very accommodating, the nurses were wonderful and the rooms were gorgeous! My room was like a hotel room, private and huge! I was very satisfied!

    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

I usually get about 800-1000 calories a day. I stalled around the 5 week mark for about 3 weeks. I upped my calorie intake and that seemed to help. I was only getting about 500-600 calories at that time.
  6. What are the Buffalo Chicken Roll-ups? Do u make them or buy them. Sounds yummy!

    My fitness pal

My doctor recently told me to up my calories as well to at least 1000-1200. I feel like I am having a hard time with this. How do you add calories with out adding more fat and carbs? Any ideas or suggestions? What percentages does everyone have there daily nutrition totals too?
  10. How much to did lose the week you finally beat your stall? I am looking at a about a week for my stall so far.
  11. Thank you, seems impossible to gain weight when u don't eat much to begin with.
  12. Hello, I was sleeved on 5/27/14. Things have been going really well. It seems that so far I hVe been able to handle everything I have introduced to my diet. I have tried steak and chicken and no problems. Since I have added more solid foods it seems I am not loosing weight. I don know of this is the dreaded stall everyone is talking about or what. This week I have gained 3 lbs. I am getting in just about all the protein I am supposed to still not able to go over much of 500 calories and getting all my liquids in. Not to many carbs. I do need to up my exercise which is just walking for now. What could be the issues? My stats are HW303 SW289 CW270 any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will also say that the nurses and staff at ECMC were fabulous! You will also have your own private room which is huge and very nice.

Actually it has been pretty good. Very little pain. So far have been able to tolerate most foods. Still working on soft foods. It will be nice to progress soon. I will be headed back to work on Tuesday.

  17. I started weight loss journey about a month or so. I have completed blood work, EKG, psych eval. I have an appt with the surgeon this Thursday and all my nutrition classes are scheduled in April. I am hoping thAt I will be able to get approved for surgery in May as I have already met my deductible for the year and my new plan starts in June. A friend of mine has the same insurance and she did not have to do a 6 month supervised diet. Although she had the surgery about a year ago. Any current sleevers that have IHA that had to do this?
  18. Hi. It was about a 2 month process by the time I had the pysch eval, testing and nutrition classes. My office sent in the paperwork on a tues or a wed to be approved. I called IHA that Thursday and it was approved!! They are very quick. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and things have been going really well. Good luck to you. Any other questions I will be happy to answer what I can.
  19. I still haven't had bowel movement either.. I was thinking of doing the same.
  20. I am 5 days post op as well. Moved on to full liquid stage. I feel Hungary as well. I woke up this morning and my stomach was grumbling. I just had about 5 spoonfuls of cream broc soup. I feel like I could eat more but my stomach is grumbling again so I am thinking it is full. Liquids has been my hard part. I am lucky of I drank 8oz of water today. It is so hard to sip! I feel like my mouth is so dry! I as well have yet to have a bowel movement either.
