Hi Boss, I live in Tumwater, and you go do it!!! I can see my toes and put on my shoes and sorry, but wipe my own butt efficiently... I am down 108 pounds since my surgery on 4/15/05. I love my band.. It has given me back my life. I still have 50 more to go to have a tummy tuck, and thenI will be at goal kinda I think. Can't wait for you to get your band, you will love it...

After all the argueing, I quit. You go girl and do your research, after all of us griping about Dr. Huacuz, he is probably more conscience of his work, and will be a safe surgeon. I still do that once in a while. I was told so many things change after this surgery. It does come and go. I think they move all that stuff aroudn in there and that is what happens.

This might sound gross to you, but everytime someone ate something I wanted, I would ask,"Do you mind french kissing me after your next bite?" I had 5 chicken fries and 6 french fries last night...too much fat. I won't try that again. I will hold out for something good!!! UMMMMMMMMMM hamburger.......

How do you all figure how much you want to weigh? I don't want to be skinny, skinny. I want to look good and feel even better!!

NJ Chick, The closest thing to fat chick, was Kirstie Ally. She is looking better. I haven't figured our society out yet.

Gina, I thought you knew Fran? and had surgery the same night? I think its strange that you reccomend calling Inamed. I called and was told not to use him, to many complaints were going on. Again, he was a good surgeon, but maybe in a hurry to make the bigger buck. I know he is a good looking man, and that has triggered some patients to use him but I am due for a tummy tuck, and no way will I use him while he is under investagation.

Missy, Check to make sure is is back, I was told he went on vacation and won't be back until after the first of Sept. We all wish you luck and gods speed.

I agree, soup and broth is what my Dr. reccomended. I had a frozen fruit pop the day after surgery, and then beef soup with veggies. I only ate the soup part. I still chew and spit the things I still want, like steak!!! I haven't figured out why some of us are on a liquid diet for 6 weeks and I was at solids on the 3 week. I have had no problems, just weight loss. 108 pounds since 4/15/05... Do the soup and don't tell. Not hot and not cold. Don't hurry, just slow...

You already made the biggest step of your life, and only 8 pounds!! That is 8 one pounds of butter , or almost a 10 bag of sugar. Go look and see what is gone off your body!!! As for the scales, the numbers on the scales are to tell skinny people they are fat. You will be better if you weigh once a week, and if anyone asks how much have you lost, it must show!! You will do great!! Keep smiling and keep moving forward...8 pounds is great!!

No regrets Jodie!!! You need this. I also had to self pay, and everytime I want to eat something bad, I tell my self that I have spent over $10,000.00 and remorgaged my house, do I really want this? I had to put myself before my family also, but it is cheaper than a funeral!! You take it and go !!!!

I want to roller blade with my sons, ages 23,25,27. I never got to do anything fun because I have always been horizontally challanged. I hate the word OBESE!!! I also have grandkids that are little, 10 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 9 years. My 9 year old grandson thought when I got back from TJ, that I wouldn't be Fluffy (his way of saying fat) anymore, He was disapointed when I got home. I hope he will enjoy me better in a few months.

I had it bad before banding, so bad I would wake up with acid in my mouth. It was usuall suagr or tomato sauce based items. So anything acidy... Now, only if I take my pain pills on an empty stomach(s)... I have Fibromyalgia, so I take pain meds. Thank the Lord for drugs!!!

DEE DEE, I don't know if this will help you with people, but this is what I had to do. First I will tell you that close friends and family will be the ones with problems about this. My brother had a fit, and so did my sisters. My brother is a big dude, abour 425?? My older sis is a normal weight and my little sis was skinny and now has gained 50 pounds, she quite smoking. It is a jealousy thing, and or they don't want you to change. Friends like fat chicks to be around the, it makes them skinnier. So if you lose the weight, what will they do!! I am down from 351 to about 240 right now and I have only had my band on since April 15,2005. It has been so fun to watch my hubby, especially when I needed new undies. Not to be sexy, but so they would quite falling down in my pants when I was shopping!!! I am trying to limit new clothes, because I still Have 90 pounds to go. I hope to have a tummy tuck when I lose another 50 pounds and they say they will remove alot of fat and skin, so I will be at goal after that, I hope!!! Your life will change and tell people who are not supportive to "BITE ME" This is for you, not for them. I will say I have been married for almost 30 years, and and the honeymoon is starting all over again....WAHOOOO

You should try Betancourt Medical. They are very experienced in this surgery. You can go to their website or call and talk to Violet or Melissa. They are really nice and are also banded. betancourtmedical.com I just had a fill there and people are very nice and take very good care of you even for a fill!!

This is more fun than....I don't know what!! I love new languages!! I can call my hubby a ocker dag, and he won't know what I called him!!! I love education!!! Keep it up

Carrie, Its worth it, I am down 108 pounds as of today, I had my surgery on 4/15/05 and yes that is correct 4 months. I was a size 28-4-5X and I am now a 22. I have also gone through 3 different sizes of undies. It is so much fun. I try to make this fun for myself, think of it as a fun choice you made and have some fun with it. I haven't heard of anyone on liquid for 6 weeks, but I only know myself. I didn't have to drink liquid protein shakes either. You made a great choice. Keep with it..

God Bless you Fran! I so wish that this would have been a positive experience for you. Are you going to try to be banded again at a later date? Are you alright now? I hope they take care of all your bills, it is only right. Thank you for telling us the truth.

Gitana, No hard feelings, but please call Inamed and ask for Don Mills. Ask him if there are problems with this Dr. I am not miss informing you. He could very well be doing bands he has purchased. There are just a lot of problems concerning him right now. I would go else where if I were to go there. They will not tell you the nature of the complaints, but they will say they have quite a few. My purpose for this is, We already have obesity knocking us down, Why not investagate a little further. I would rather have someone think I wanted to start a rumor, than someone tell me they had to have their band removed, or the hole repaired in their stomach. Please RESEARCH!!!!

I can't believe our insurance companies would rather pay for heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and what ever else comes our way. I am so tired of premiums up the wazzu and they pay for drug rehab and alcohol rehab, but what about eating rehab???

That is what I was told by several people from Molding Clinic. I guess the best bet is to call Inamed to see if he is still certified.

He did my surgery also on 4/15/05, and I am down 106 pounds. I love the man, he was great,kind and very understanding, also a great surgeon. I was told that a patient had filed a complaint with the band company and they will not sell the band to him. This happened several weeks ago. You also said you had gall bladder surgery, that is not a band. His license to practice to my knowledge is still intact, except for applying the band. He could be doing the french band, not Inamed. I am not out to hurt him by any means, I told you what I was told. I was in Tijuana last weekend, where this was the topic of discussion. I am not sure why you think Andres is anything more than what he is.He is a very intelligent business man in the medical field. I do not think you have to be a Doctor to know about this subject since he is also a banded patient.

The Molding Clinic and Dr. Huacuz have disolved that practice. He can is not authorized to put on the American Lap Band due to a problem with a patient. Andres Betancourt has opened Betancourt Medical who have a great surgeon and staff. Andres has 13 years of experience and is also banded.
