Good Morning SD Kelly, I agree everything is moving so fast, I do know that I am ready for the surgery , but I am putting my list together of things to do after surgery, what vitamins and supplements to get, what protein shakes to buy, it's like wow, I need to be on the ball. Have you gotten your post op diet stuff yet, if so what protein shakes did you invest in? RaQuel

Hi Lacy, my insurance required me to lose 5% of my weight which was 13 pounds, I will not say it was hard but it sure wasn't easy, but I did it. My surgery has been moved from the 28th to the 30th and my insurance company which is BCBS Excellus approved me in 3 days so I am happy about that. I start my pre opt liquid diet on Thursday of this week, so wish me luck on that one. Good luck to you and the time will fly by, you'll be sleeved before you know it.

I was originally scheduled for Jul 30th, but my surgery has been moved up to the 28th, so I am really excited, I have a 4 day liquid diet that I am ready to tackle. I am so encouraged by all the other sleevers out there. Congrats to all the July sleevers and good luck

My insurance is through BCBS Excellus

I also had a 6 month requirement and my insurance also required to lose 5% of my weight or I would not qualify. I lost the 5% and my doctor is submitting me for approval on Monday, has my last weigh in and pre op with the doctor Saturday, and my surgery has been scheduled for 7-30 pending insurance approval..so wish me luck

Hi Tameka, Congrats on your surgery date I am scheduled for 07/30 @ 7:00am, I am nervous and excited to. My insurance required 6 months dietary, so it seems like it has taken forever to get to this point, so I am glad that I made it to the end. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress after the surgery .

My doctor has put me on the book for 07/30/2014 surgery, I have my final weigh in and pre-op with my doctor on tomorrow. It has been a long 6 months to get to this point, I hope everything goes through with the insurance. I am excited and nervous at the same time.

Thank you for your responses, all of the diets were supervised by a medical doctor and I am hoping I can get approved fairly quickly, I only need to have my endoscopy done and all of the preoperative requirements will have been met. Wish me luck. Thank you

I was told that it varies from patient to patient, but the liquid diet is to shrink the liver........
