It’s been ongoing for quite a while, getting the full stomach sensation, yet my hunger has not caught up, getting that uncomfortable blotted feeling, it take a while to get the head fixed, after the stomach is fixed, a work in progress, this support group has opened to me that it’s another eating disorder that I have to address……Si

Hi All, It’s been 7 years since my gastric sleeve surgery and I am currently at 194 Lbs (topped the scale at 268). My current issue is, when I eat meals the hungry does not subside, my stomach fills up quickly, where I cannot finish my portion, yet, I am not satisfied and eating more doesn’t end the hunger, just makes me uncomfortable. Do others suffer from this, any suggestions?

Thanks, have to keep open minded and try to change my habits, I posted to see if there were similar issues and recommendations. Will try to work with a therapist….thanks for your feedback…..Si

Ok, got it, I’ve in Boynton Beach, Florida, any known / recommended therapist for eating disorders?

Thanks, it’s not “ head-hunger” it’s the sensation of not abating the hunger, I eat slowly and small portions, but always fill up, before my stomach or really my brain has been satisfied. Not sure if I’m describing this sensation as well as I could…..Si

Post Sleeve Surgery Change in Taste Buds
Sapot replied to Sapot's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just one last thought, after drinking liquids (Coffee, Ice Tea, Sodas) with artificial sweeteners, I get an unpleasant after-taste. Thank you all for your kind support! Enjoy and be well.....Si -
Post surgery, my taste buds have changed and certain foods don't taste the same as they did before my Sleeve surgery. Has anyone else experienced this change? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Why doesnt protein keep me full longer?
Sapot replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too have been experiencing this; I eat proteins, I wait 45 minutes to drink, yet within two hours I get hungry. Protein drinks or protein bars last about an hour. I am searching for a protein that fills me and can satisfy my hunger for at least three hours. -
I too am 4 wks post-op, and I have still not found my "Eating Grove", I eat proteins first and get full after a few oz., I wait 45 mins before drinking water, yet my hunger returns way before the three hour mark. My Doc and Nutritionist recommend fluids to keep me full. I am going to try to maximize my protein intake......... any help would be appreciated......Regards....Si

Hi, 21 days post-op, saw my cardiologist this week and he is keeping me on all heart meds (Accupril, Plavix, Coreg, Vytorin & Trocor), I am to monitor my blood pressure when I feel tired or light head, he will adjust meds dosages as needed. On the diabetes side, my morning readings have been between 96 -118 daily. I still take medformin, 5 -10 units of Lantus and 5-10 units of Novolog......Just sharing...Si

Hi, I am 21 days post-op and I too have "HUNGER". I have been eating 5 -6 small meals per day (including 2 snacks). After each meal I set a timer for 30 minutes, today I am increasing the timer to 45 minutes, to see if I am drinking too soon. When I eat and I get the sense of fullness, I stop eating, yet I still feel hungry. Need food recommendations that will satisfy my hunger, before the feeling of fullness. Good luck to all....Si
