My claim for vsg has been submitted to BCBS Federal! I've been really confident telling myself that my surgeon wouldn't have me going through all of these evaluations if he didn't think I had a good chance at being approved, but now I'm second guessing myself and worried I've been over confident!! I've heard that BCBS Federal can have a quick turn around time so I'm really hoping by Wednesday I will know. I really want the week of May 12th for my surgery. Panic setting in....I just want to know!!!!!

Hey Nebraska pals! QUESTION--- So my surgery is next week and that sounds insane to say! Anyway I guess Dr. Hung is starting to do a few surgeries at Bryan West. So does anyone know about that hospital? I've never been there. If anyone can tell me anything about it let me know plz!! Thank you!!

It seems like most of us are in the Lincoln area? Is that right? I live in Nebraska City so not far from Lincoln.

See and I had a seminar at UNMC in Omaha and it was so impersonal and like 50 obese people crowded into a room, watching a presentation, and getting a pamphlet. That's why I was blown away that Dr. Hung was actually there and answered any individual questions we had, and it was a much smaller group of people. We all have different experiences though and are making the best choices for ourselves. It would be neat to have a meet up sometime!!!

I'm the same weigh! After giving birth to my son in 2006 my stomach never stopped looking pregnant!!! I'm so excited to not look 5 months pregnant anymore. I'm a PCOS lady too, I know your struggle!

Yes take vitamin C!! I just bought the generic vitamin C supplements and take them in addition to my multivitamin! It should help you! Also you can try Zicam. It's nasty but my in laws swear by it. You take it at the first sign of illness though.

And also the naming of the baby is the perfect comparison as to why I'm only telling a select few people close to me about my surgery. Telling people after will be totally different. I don't want or need anyone's opinion but those close to me who I care about!

Oh my goodness I know you weren't saying this to me but I loved reading it!!! So so so true!!!! If I wasn't 100% on the sleeve (which I am) you would have me swayed. So now I'll say I'm 120% lol. And heck yes I'm saving those pennies for a tummy tuck.

I'm on day 3! I have to stay under 1,000 calories as well. I'm doing premier protein and they are really good. They taste kind of like a runny pudding. Lol. I am struggling tho and having lots of food cravings and mourning the loss of food right now.

So as the weight loss goes on I'm just wondering about my belly fat and what everyone has experienced. My tummy sits on my thighs and it's so uncomfortable. I'm hoping eventually that it won't do that, but I know I will have a lot of extra skin there. Does anyone have an experience with a lot of belly fat loss they can share? It's appreciated! Thanks!

I don't care so much about the extra skin bc the skin I have now is already ravaged with huge stretch marks but I'm more talking about how Inu belly sits on my legs and makes me hot and gives me a rash there. It's hard to explain, lol. I would think it will get lighter but I have this weird picture in my mind that my sagging skin now will droop even lower and not shrink up. I probably sound crazy! Lol!!!

I've been on pre-op diet for 3 days now and every night I have restless legs and a hard time getting to sleep. I normally don't have this problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know why it's happening or what helps? TIA!

Have you tried Premier Protein? I love those, they remind me of how pudding tastes. Good luck! I've heard our tastes change after surgery so hopefully you will start liking them more.

I was approved Tuesday!!! 4/22 it was super quick! My surgery is set for May 6th!!!

Where is Dr. Forse or what hospital is he out of? I've heard about him too. I only work part time so I'm taking 2 weeks off and then for the first two weeks I'm back I'm going to work short shifts only like a few hours. Six weeks will be great though! She did at first but then she stopped getting fills and has gained some back. That is why I for sure did not want the lap band. I don't want to do the upkeep.

I had to take an assessment but it was only about 100 questions I think. Not 500 for sure. I took it at the psych eval.

I'm only telling close friends/ family that I feel comfortable sharing this info with. I started my pre-op diet yesterday and I have to do protein shake for breakfast, lunch, and a small meal with protein and green veggie for supper. My mil had Dr. Hung and loved him, so it was an easy choice.

That's great I bet you will be hearing by the end of the week! I actually called BCBS and found out by calling the pre certification phone number and then not even three hours later the nurse at the surgeons office called and told me I was approved. Yes my BMI is 48, and I don't mind you asking.
