Anyone having surgery in May
Kraeok24 replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so I got to come home from the hospital last night. The surgery went well. The first night was really rough. I had an NG tube down my nose, oxygen on, a catheter, and a jp wound drain in 1 of my six incisions. I was using the morphine pump they gave me, but I need a lot of help to reposition myself in bed. The nurse brought me an abdominal binder and it helped me a lot. The pain was really bad and can still be bad, but I am moving around a whole lot better now. I had a wonderful experience at the hospital. My husband has been very attentive and is taking great care of me. I wanted to thank you all the support and encouragement I get here. Now the journey to the new me starts! -

My surgery is Monday at 7:30am. I am getting very nervous and excited all at the same time. I can hardly believe it is this close. I went today and had my hair done and got a pedicure as my mother's day gift from my family. I have been on my pre op diet since the 28th of April and have done very well with it. All the nervousness is getting to me. Really need some encouragement. -

My surgery day is May 12th also. I start my pre op diet today. I am so excited and nervous. I can hardly believe that is it coming up so quickly. I already have all my vitamins ready for post op. My pre op appointment at the hospital is Thursday. I have been talking to my 12 and 4 year old about how we will be gone for a few days. My 12 year old understand that I am having surgery, my four year old knows that when I come home I will have some boo boos. -

My pre op diet starts on Monday, my surgery is May 12th. I am lucky for my pre op diet I get 3 Meal Replacements ( Protein bars or drinks) and one real food meal per day. I have a list of pre approved foods and amounts for my real food meal. I can snack on raw vegetables and sugar free Jello all I want. I have been trying Protein drinks for the past 3 months. I really like the Syntrax nectar and matrix drinks. I also bought some premade isopure drinks to have if I need them. I live 2 and a half hours away from the hospital so my husband will be taking me for surgery and staying in Boston with me. My father in law and his wife are coming to stay with our kids while we are gone. Counting down the days!!!!!!!!!! -
Ok so I am 5 weeks away from my having by gastric bypass surgery. I have been trying the Vitamin samples from Bariatric Advantage, Celebrate, and Bariatric fusion. I find the Calcium wafers awful. They are so big and taste bad. I have tried the chewy bites and they are ok. I was trying to be cost efficient and priced all the Vitamins. I love the Calcet chews, but they are expensive to take 3 times a day. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different cost efficient calcium chewable?

My doctor and nutritionist say we can not absorb calcium carbonate so it has to be citrate for me.

Micky29 I guess that would depend on who will be around to help you afterwards. My father in law will be coming to stay with my kids who are 12 and 4. My husband and I will be about 2.5 hours away at the hospital. So I am making up dinners and freezing them, making sure I have plenty of lunch and snacks on hand. Having the kitchen stocked so that it is easier for my father in law. After we get home my husband will be able to shop and cook. I plan on doing a really good deep clean on my house the week before surgery and making sure all the laundry is done. That way my husband just has to maintain while I am done and out. -

Yes Cupcake I have been trying out protein drinks. I really like the Syntrax nectar and matrix ones. I have also tried Unjury and they are good as well. I have purchased four flavors of syntrax and an isopure unflavored to add to my other foods. I have been trying sample vitamins from bariatric advantage, celebrate, and bariatric fusion. Deciding which flavors are best to order. I have gone shopping and bought a few small bowls and plates. I also picked up a few small spoons. My best purchase so far was a 24oz insulated bubba cup that has a small opening for sipping my water! -
