  1. I'm down 15.5 pounds since my initial consultation. I think I'm up a couple of pounds today because of my period but it will all even out in the end. I figured I'd be a slow loser so this isn't a surprise. However, since I haven't suffered one bit, I'm not really disappointed, either. :)

    Longhorn-

Doesn't TOM suck! Same issue for me this week. The stupid scale needs batteries; so I could weigh in this morning. None the less, you are doing super and keep up the great work.

  2. Hollyberries, when was your surgery again? I had the same pain on and off I'd say for a month after surgery. Mine would happen when I was driving a lot and hungry, the combination - but I think it was mostly the sitting and driving. I'm not sure why it happened only in the car, but there you go. Now that I'm thinking of it, it hasn't happened in a while, but I have heard some people having it for a long time. It's awful, isn't it?

Holy smoke! When it comes on it is completely out of the blue. Wish there was some rhyme or reason to it. Funny things is it comes on when I have to go workout (LOL).

  3. I was in church on Sunday and one our deacon's said, "My you look younger"; he knew that I had weightloss surgery. Then again, he came over and said, "I can't believe how losing weight makes you look so much younger."

I was walking on cloud nine all day after that comment. People can't believe how much younger I look losing weight. Guess what! I am turning 40 in January.

Did I mention that I love my Band!

  4. Cagstorm, you need to switch to the team that will win it all.

Funny you should mention rings and shoes. My rings are getting smaller and I can tie my shoes without contorting either.

I got a watch for my 40th birthday from my Aunt in October. It did not fit. I am now able to wear this watch. That is a big accomplishment.

Also, why does God make us lose weight from our face down. Darn it I want my stomach to disapper but no the turkey neck is the first to go.

  5. Kristin-

What no one wanted to share recipes? I think that this is a great idea. I have one that is a staple for me.

    Ambrosia-

1 container of lowfat cottage cheese

    1 can of manarin oranges

1 tub of Fat Free cool Whip

1 package of sugar free Orange Jello

Just mix all together and put in fridge to chill about an hour. Enjoy!

I need to figure out the cal. fat, Protein, etc. but will post an update when I do.

I love this recipe because it is filling and you get a fruit, Protein and it is a good sweet fix.

  6. OK...November Nymphs I have a question. I am still experiencing left shoulder pain. Now, I can't seem to figure it out because it comes and goes. Most of the time it happens when I am sitting and standing actually alleviates the pain. Now, I have read that shoulder pain could mean you are full but my pain is happening not when I am eating.

So is anyone having the same issue? Would love to hear from you. I did talk with my surgeon who indicated that it is possible that the band is sitting on the diaphram (nerve) that goes to the shoulder. I gotta tell you though it feels like I have a toothache and I have had to take pain meds more than once for it.

I hope it is not a permanent issue because I think I will have cut it off. LOL:omg:

  7. Hey Kristin-

Sorry you had to go through that. I haven't had a stuck experience yet but have come close and all due because of eating to fast or not chewing well. I kind of feel like it is going down to hard. This feeling is sometimes telling me I am full to. This band is so finicky and I can't figure anything out but what I have found to work is eating only when I am hungry and following the portions set out by my dietician. I stop whether I am full or not and 99% of time I am satisified.

Did I happen to mention that I love my Band..

  8. Hey my fellow football enemy! You are doing fantastic. How do you feel? What can you do now that you couldn't do before? These are things to measure more than weight. One thing that I have noticed is that I don't sweat anymore when I lead worship at church. Let me tell you, that is accomplishment.

    Keep up the good work!

    God's Blessings.

  9. You have a good attitude! Keep it up because it will get your through the hard times. Remember, that everyone has an opinion but it really boils down to how you feel. 1-2lbs a week is exactly where we should be; if it is more than it is a bonus.

    Best of luck to you!

  10. Longhorn-

I read so many posts from people who are having so much hunger and I feel so bad for them; especially when I am feeling no hunger and may not need a fill. I wonder why such vast differences between banders. I don't get it.

  11. My first fill is scheduled for 1/3/08 because I am having some restriction from surgery. I am satisfied with between 1000 to 1200 calories per day and am not experiencing hunger between meals. I am not sure what he will do when I go in. We will see. I keep waiting for "Bandster Hell" to begin but I must be one of those that it hasn't happened to yet.

  12. Kristen-

I have been following your results. Congratulations! I am in the same club as you because like you I am feeling restriction. My Doctor told me the same thing that sometimes his patients have restriction just from the surgery and we must be two of them. He also indicated that from his experience that the patients that have restriction right after surgery do very well. So wooo-hooo!

I am very satisfied eating what they tell me to eat. I am not hungry yet and waiting for "Bandster Hell" to start because I now that it will at some point. Unlike you, I am scheduled for my first fill on 1/3/08 but if I am feeling satisfied as I am now, I may not need it. I will let the Doc decide.

Again, great job. You must feel so elated with your weightloss!

  13. Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to share that I hit a big milestone today. I have lost exactly 50lbs. I am so elated, I cannot even explain. I know that things will slow down and I am expecting it. I am not sure what I am doing but I can say that I must have some restriction because I feel satisfied after I eat and I am not really hungry between meals. I eat between 1000 and 1200 calories per day and try to ensure that my Protein intake is between 50-70 grams.

I haven't hit "Bandster Hell" yet and am waiting for it to come any day but until then I will be happy with my results.

Thanks for letting my shine for a few minutes.

  14. wantoloose-

You and I are on the same track weight loss wise I was banded on 11/6. My doc scheduled my first fill for 1/3/08 because I was having some restriction and that I had lost 30 lbs in a month. I am getting a bit more hungry; as well but still losing. I can't figure it out because I went to real food this week and have lost 6lbs. I went from 800 calories to 1000-1200 and I am losing. I don't know what is going on but my body must love this "Band".
