  1. For fitness training I like ActiTrainer because I'm lazy and don't have to search for my fitness activities. LOL It just tells me how many calories I burned and I'm set. And I can increase my movement during the day to get my calories burned bumped up a little more. It feels more personalized to me rather than a "guess" as to how much I burned based on what other people at my size may burn.

    Steph-

What is the ActiTrainer? Is it website that tracks your activity or is it something you buy? I would be interested in something to track my activity. Once I start to get active. LOL! I have a membership at the "Y" but haven't been able to get there lately due to my schedule. We are so busy with the opening our 2nd store and I am going nuts. But very interested in this ActiTrainer thing you speak about.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Cindy

  2. Finally, I get my FIRST fill on Tuesday and I am a nervous wreck. Why, I can't quite tell...although I am hoping all will go well. It's been a long time coming since I was banded with many of you on 11/1/07.

I am however looking forward to getting weighed because I know my doc's scale always gives a number less than the one I have at home.

    Wish me luck...

    Solaa-

I had my first fill on 1/3/08 and I was banded on 11/6/07. Don't be nervous you will do fine. Mine was a piece of cake and I didn't even feel anything as it was so quick. You will do just great. Best Wishes!

    Cindy

  3. So when do we update? My weigh in is on Monday, so I updated below. But, I am wondering if I was supposed to, or if I should wait until next week (I think this thread started mid week)?

    Hey Foofy-

We are going to update on Thursdays and you will see a new thread with Weekending 1/10/07. Just post your update on that thread. Congrats on your loss.

  4. Supposedly DH says he's planning something...says he has been planning since Christmas. We'll see. Past anniversaries haven't been much to look forward to as far as anything special, I'm sad to say. Last anniversary I planned because I was sick of waiting to see if he would do something to Celebrate us. I can't totally blame him - he's been married a few times before me and they weren't anything to celebrate, so I think he was just in a rut. LOL Hopefully he got the hint from last year.

That made me a little sad about not wanting to say your weight at the hospital in front of your DH. The only reason I say that is because we can be so dang hard on ourselves and it's obvious he loves you very much if he was wanting to have babies with you. If only we could see ourselves through the eyes of love that DHs have. I'm excited for you to reach your goals!

I kind of know what you mean about our DH's. I love mine to death, he is my best friend but in the romance department he isn't that romantic. However, we are going to PA for buying trip for our stores at the end of the month and we will be gone a week without the kids. I am looking forward to some us time. Even though it will be busy, we will have quite a bit of down time so hopefully we can reconnect.

Funny thing is now he knows how much I weigh and he does love me for who I am because he married me when I was overweight. I weighed 260lbs when we met. When he proposed which was on Valentines day in 1990; I decided that I was going to lose weight for the wedding which was in October 1990. Well, I lost about 40lbs and got to 220lbs and was a size 16. It was the thinnest I had been in as long as I could remember.

Even now, I can't see myself lower than 220lbs. My goal is 175 but I am going to lose until I feel good. I will let my body dictate my final weight.

  5. Everybody is doing so great. I love hearing all the NSVs. Even if I've read them once, I'll generally read through again from my last post before posting again. It's so encouraging.

I noticed today that my work coat is swimming on me. It's an XL. It was tight when I first ordered it and DH was actually trying to get me to take a XXL. But it was right before my LapBand surgery and I knew it wouldn't last me too long. I'm so excited. I told him to grab a M when he's at the office next so I can hang onto it when I get into M!

Wow! Step, you got them coming in all circles. You rock! Keep up the great work.

    Cindy

  6. OK... WOW!

My wife today told me that my jeans were falling off! "No they aren't!" These are my 2 week old jeans size 48 that I posted an NSV about on the main NSV thread. So i said to myself, "I will try on some 46 jeans at wally world... I know they won't fit... grumble, grumble, grumble." I pulled the things up and straightened out the pockets and they buttoned and zipped right up!

SIZE 46 BABY!!! Down from size 54!!! I can't believe this. I only have 4 more pant sizes to go to get to my goal size of 36.

    Cag,

Isn't it great! Just love clothes NSV moments. I can't wait until I can shop in Wal-mart for clothes. I haven't been able to do that in years. I am probably at that point now but I am holding off as long as I can because I want to reach 100lbs. before May! Then it is a whole new summer wardrobe Baby!

Although, I am starting Water aerobics at the "Y" and I need a bathing suit that fits. The one I got is way to big now. I guess I will have suck it up!

What a boring weekend without football for my Pats. I am sure you felt the same with no Cowboys. Not sure that I like my game next week with the JAGS even though I am confident that we will probably beat them, I just wish we were facing a team that is less explosive. However, you got beat the best to be the best. So I am sure that we will beat the JAGS; it will make for a very interesting game. I think I will have be a football party Saturday night. They had better win because it is my birthday and I am turning 40. That would be the best birthday present this year!

Keep up the great work and I want to see the ticker symbol go down; it hasn't changed in a while.

    Cindy

  7. Sounds good to me, Cindy! I really like the idea of this challenge. It really gives me something to look forward to. And I LOVE the thought that I'll be in the 180's for my anniversary (Valentine's Day)! I'll be 18.5 lbs over the weight I was when we met. I'm so excited! :clap2:

That is such a great goal to look forward too! Have you anything planned for your Anniversary? This would be a good time to plan something special. Maybe a quiet get-a-way.

Once I reach 275, this will be a milestone for me because it was the weight I was when I was beginning to have my children. I remember not wanting to tell my weight to the hospital in front of my husband because I did not want him to know how overweight I was. Now, my oldest child is 14; so that is a long time.

Also, the 60lb milestone was big for me because I have never gone beyond 60lbs and maintained it and with my Band I know that I am going to pass 60lbs and keep it off. I am looking forward the 3/4 quarter century mark with a aggressive passion.

Mini goals are great for motivation aren't they. Good luck!

    Cindy

  8. Well...once you get to normal food my doctor has the following plan. Between 1000-1200 calories per day (7 Proteins, 3 veggies, 2 fruits, 2 fats, 2 starches). My typical menu might include:

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs 1/2 cup of applesauce

Lunch: 2 oz. diced turkey or chicken with 1tbsp of lite mayo, 9 All-Bran Multigrain crackers, 10 almonds and 1/2 banana

Dinner: 3 oz of meat (i.e., chicken, roast), 1/4 cup of sweet potato & 1/2 cup of green Beans or broccoli and 10 almonds.

I really like chili and make and eat this very often. I will have 1 cup of chili with some cheese and sour cream. This fills me up. I do not eat between meals since my fill and am finding that I am full until my meal. However, I know that I need a fill when I start to get hungry between meals.

    Good luck with your surgery.

    Cindy

  9. I got one! I got one! I got one! I got one!

This morning I put on a pair of size 28 jeans. I haven't been able to get these over my fat stomach for many years. Well, I thought I would try them because I am done 60lbs. Mind you I started at a size 32 (very tight). Imagine my surprise when they went over my stomach and zipped up without having to lay on the bed in contortions. I must admit a bit tight but I can sit and not feel like my body is cut in half.

I am so elated right now. Size 28 and goodbye 30 and 32. Never to see again.

May we all have happy jean moments in the future.

    Cindy

  10. I track my food everyday regardless of being good or bad. I like sparkpeople.com the best but like The Daily Plate for nutrition information that I may not find on sparkpeople. I don't the activity tracker on sparkpeople so I haven't actually done that. I start going back to the gym on Tuesday; so I am looking forward to finding a better activity tracker. Any suggestions anyone?

    Cindy

  11. Sades...I agree with you.

Deep or not there is always flouro. I would suggest talking with your doctor and telling him that you want your first fill that you are hungry and need to get to restriction for the band to work. My starting weight was 358 which is a lot more than you and I had my first fill. Granted my port is not deep; actually my doctor prefers to put the port more to the surface because it is easier to get the fill in and he doesn't want to use us as pin cushions. Granted I may need to have the port repositioned in the future but I like that he is thinking about his patients comfort. My fill was a piece of cake and did not hurt at all. Which I am grateful for.

Good luck and please stand up for yourself you deserve to be on the way to losing with a bit more restriction.

    Cindy

  12. To all you Valentine's Day Challenge Nymphs!

I had an idea. I am going to start a thread every week that you can post your weekly weigh in until we get to Valentine's Day. I will have the thread read "November Nymph Valentine's Day Challenge Week 1 Update". This way the updates won't get lost in this thread and I want everyone to read it through to see all the successes. If anyone has a better idea let me know because I want to make it easier for everyone.

I love small challenges because it easier to look at than 118lbs. Do you agree?

Good luck and the weight begin melting.

  14. I finally had my first fill today. It went very well. I found out that I lost 60lbs since I started this whole process. I am very elated right now and the my doctor was happy. He asked me how things were going and I told him that I was kind of hungry in the last few weeks that I was noticing that I was hungry between meals. So he said hop on the table and lets get you some fill. He was awesome. I only felt a prick of both needles. I really do not think that he had to numb first because he was so quick.

He did indicate that since I had some restriction after surgery that this 1cc might be a little aggressive so if I was getting anything stuck to call him right away. I am not expecting that but nice to know. Had to drink a glass of Water but did fine and on liquids for 2 days and mushies for 2 days and back to real food. My next fill was scheduled for 1/30/08; which stupid me forgot that I will be in PA on a buying trip for my store.

Anyhoo! Overall a great experience. Did I happen to mention that I love my band!

  15. Hey everyone! I have been on LBT for a while and have not seen this thread. So glad I have. I started my weightloss journey at 358 on August 23rd, 2007. As of late last week, I hit 299lbs. Down 55lbs and very much loving my band. I have gotta admit that the holidays have not been easy to get through with all the off plan eating. The number nights eating out and parties, I just can't wait until it is over.

I go for my first fill on 1/3/08 since my banding on 11/6/07. I am so ready for one. I hope to be down another 3lbs by then but I am not holding my breath with 3 more parties over the next 3 days and then New Year's Eve. I think that I will do Protein shakes and small Protein Snacks for Breakfast and lunch and save my calories for my parties. One good thing I haven't gained any weight at all...just staying the same and would love to keep it that way.

Congratulations to all of you and great weightloss. I have loved reading your posts.

    Cindy

  16. I am also thankful Christmas is over for this year. I felt like I was eating non stop for two days. I enjoyed a few goodies, some wine, and good starchy food, now I'm ready to throw out all the junk and get back on track. At least I haven't gained weight. I was banded on Nov. 5th and haven't had a fill yet. I was hoping to stretch it out, but I think I am due for one soon. Even though my meals are still small and I feel retricted I notice I am hungry a lot more.

My weight loss has also flat lined. At first, the weight just melted off, now I've been losing and gaining the the same 2-3 lbs.

    wntolose)

We were banded a day apart and lost about the same amount of weight. We must be on the same schedule for needing a fill. Kind of funny!

My fill is next week and I can't wait. I haven't gained or lost anything in the last few days and I am very happy with that. As matter of fact, we have been eating out alot due to how busy my store has been but I have been trying to make good choices and I actually split all the meals in half when I get it. Today, we had lunch at the Olive Garden; which was really a tough choice but I just had 1/2 of everything and I felt fine and not overstuffed. I found a cool website Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate that gave me the nutritional information on the meal that I ate and I stayed within my calories.

We are all winners here and we are doing awesome. Just remember this is a lifestyle change and we are going to make good and bad choices for the rest of our lives. It is how we bounce back from the bad choices that matters.

    Cindy

  17. I am with you Sades. I over indulged today and feel like crap. However, this is a lifestyle change and we are going to over eat more times in our lives; it is how we handle it after that is important. We just can't let this sabotage our efforts and get right back on the bandwagon tomorrow.

We can do it! I agree a fill would be nice. God it is another week away for me. It seems like forever.

    Cindy

  18. Hey November Nymphs! Merry Christmas!

How did everyone do staying on plan today. I must admit this was the first day that I actually strayed off course since being banded. And guess what? I feel like crap tonight. I guess I am not used to all the sugar I put into my body. I am not beating myself up about it; I just resolved to get back on track tomorrow and follow the plan to the "T". Can't wait for my fill on the 3rd, I am starting to get more hungry between meals so I know that I need a fill.

So how about you? Did you do all right? Post your ups and downs, we are here for you.

    Cindy

PS: Oh yeah! I met my New Years Goal a week early and hit below 300. Yeah...a Christmas NSV Gift for me.:faint:

  19. Cagstorm you are so funny!!

Congrats on your tremendous achievement to date....Guys always lose faster than us broads...LOL

It is nice to see everyone so upbeat and positive how things are changing for them.

Makes another reason that I love this board and our November group so much!!

    Kristin-

Look at the ticker, you are doing great. I too love all us November Nymphs too! I would love to start a thread that tracks how much weight we are losing as a group. I think that it would be awesome to see how much weight we have lost all together. I am sure it is a lot.

I have an NSV..I own a country store here in MA and all my customers cannot figure out what is changing about me. Usually they ask if I have done something different with my hair but then they say that boy you are looking younger. I finally break down and tell them that I have lost 53lbs. they are like wow it is amazing how much younger you look.

I just love that because in a few weeks, I will be turning 40 eeeek! This Band was a gift to myself for being overweight over 35 years and wanting to change my life for next 40 years.

Did I mention I love this band.
