hello everyone my name is amanda and I recently had the gastro bypass surgery and I am on day 19. the reason I chose to have surgery was because of my diabetes. it has been fluctuating ups and downs for months and I just could not get it under control that on top of several other issues made me decide to go ahead with the surgery. on my 2 week post surgical doctor visit I was doing so well he went ahead and put me on to the next. Mushy food phase. so far I'm doing pretty good but there are times are certain foods to eat that feel like they're so heavy makes me feel icky. I also seem to have more anxiety attacks then I have in the past. I find myself out of sorts of a little more often than I'd like and I know that trigger some of my anxiety hoping that will pass soon. I just started looking through this site so far some of the comments on the forms of really helped with the anxiety issues that I feel are connected with the surgery. 1 continuing issue that I'm having right now is the protein shakes I'm having a hard time getting those down it's getting to the point where its almost causing that gag reflex. I'm currently using the bariatric advantage protein shakes they were good in the beginning it just now that after 5 weeks of drinking them it's hard to even smell them at this point much less drink them, but I'm trying to get him down. if you have any questions feel free to ask I guess that's all I have for now thanks for being there in helping me through this process I appreciate everyones participation on these boards I can't tell you how much I am glad I found this.
