Finally my surgery date is just about here. Tomorrow marks Day 1 of my new life. I can't "weight"!

Glad to be of help. I figure I can't be the only person with questions.. My surgery is Tuesday, 3/18. My surgeon has NO requirements. I can eat junk right up till Midnight before surgery and no bowel prep needed. It just seemed so strange to me so I have been trying to do some of the things other surgeons have required. It really helps me, or anyone prepare mentally for the surgery and new lifestyle. I'm feeling good, loving the idea of my new life and soon I will be taking care of my pouch...being careful to follow rules so I NEVER regain this weight.

So happy to hear how everyone is doing. I hope some of you start feeling better soon!! To the others way to go on the weight loss! Wooowhoo! I enjoy reading everyones posts daily. Keep up the good work! Tuesday is my surgery. I am BEYOND excited. I have worked for this day for 2 years. To a healthy new life-Cheers (Protein shake in hand of course!)

I'm going to do mostly clear liquids Sunday and Monday. My surgery is Tuesday. I have to write down the stuff you got @ Walgreens. I'm also going to try your peanut butter shake. It sounds great! Thanks girls!!

I have been eating more than just the shakes still. I appreciate all ideas on variations on the diet. Does or did your doctors restrict your diet further the 24 or 48 hours before surgery? I didn't get the drink to clean out my intestines either. Does anyone know what that is? Or what I could use?

@SugarFreeMe I feel good about the liquid diet now that I understand it is ok to have a very small, low calorie meal as well. I was just blown away that we were expected to go from several meals/snacks a day to liquid. I think I am doing alright now. I cant do the rootbeer float, but it sounds SUPER yummy! I gave up all soda. Thanks for the ideas to add to my shakes!

@Sandy, Thank you for the great advise! I thought liquid diet meant only liquid meal replacement. Adding a small healthy meal makes it SO much easier. I have drank some broth and lots of water. I am going to the store today to find some sugar free additives for my shakes. Good luck to you! I'm so excited for everyone here!

@survivingsleever Thank You for responding! I have decided I am going to eat one small healthy meal a day. Doing liquid only was not working for me. I don't know anyone that is strong enough to make it through 2 weeks of an only liquid diet. I know it will be a lot easier after surgery when I don't have a huge belly to fill. Congrats on the March 14th! You will do great!!

Welcome!! I'm scheduled for surgery the 13th in Pennsylvania. I'm a little nervous but totally excited!Awesome! You will do great! We have all waited so long for this day and its almost here!

I'm new here, but I love this group already! I'm having RNY-Distal on March 18, 2014 at Siani Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. YAY...I'm so excited and hopeful.
