    March 2014 Losers

    I've been walking about 30- 40 mins day. Trying I make sure I get a good sweat. I downloaded couch to 5k on my phone and attempted to jog a little bit (15-30secs at a time). Was a bit too early to try to jog. But I'm going to keep up the walking . Oh and if you have a smartphone- spotify has a workout playlist that is awesome!

    Yeah i definitely didn't tolerate tuna. Try yogurt, cottage cheese and applesauce with a bit of Splenda, retried beans and some cheese- those are all ones I have tolerated.

    I broke the stall! Woo! Down two lbs. good thing I didn't give up. However, I did workout too much and hurt my stomach so it's pretty sore now :/ I tried to jog...ugh! Just are puréed egg beaters with some cheese and turkey. Unfortunatly the turkey I used was kinda spicy- tummy Didn't like. Usually it sits well! I got a "farberware" single serve blender/processor and love it!

    Hungry

    Thanks guys! I'm currently sittin with 6 of my family members at Burger King watching them eat. Just finished an entire bottle of Water so I'm doin OK. Still sucks tho! I've got crystal light, and 2 different flavor MIO's in my purse so I'll keep drinking! Were takin all my cousins to the museum so improvising is in order.

    Hey guys! How is everyone doing??? I'm down 20lbs and have hit a stall I'm hoping it will pass soon cause it's quite depressing! Started walking faster and longer trying to get some exercise. My Biggest problem is head hunger- I feel "hungry" all the time. Even though I'm really not. I must have been more of an emotional eater than I thought! Not giving up tho! Keeping going and staying strong.

    Same problem here! I feel like I am eating way too much and want too eat too much. March 3 was my Date and I'm 2 weeks out. I'm on puréed/ soft. Cottage cheese, cheese, Beans, eggs are all things I can have. Soup as well. I have a feeling it's all head hunger but I keep wanting to eat more and more! I'm not getting a "full" feeling at all. I try to stick to 1/4 cup or so when I do eat. And shakes in between. It's always worse at night. I'm so frustrated! I end up "snacking" and having a small amount in between. I'm normally 600 and under... But I'm stalled in my weight loss. Tips? Please please!!! I feel like I'm going crazy between trying to figure out what I'm supposed to feel and what I'm not: then getting worried; and even panicking! Maybe I just need a buddy to message when I feel "hungry" and they can tell me "NO!"

    Alright, saying bye bye to the scale! On a side note... Starting to workout more and want to do couch to 5k. How soon is too soon? I'm 2 weeks post op yesterday.

  10. Hey guys! I had Gastric bypass march 3 and have lost a total of 21lbs do far. I'm on stage 3 soft/puréed with shakes. Can you explain to me what I stricture is? I've seen it mentioned here and there and I've started having a problem. As I said before I'm on puréed foods now. I've been tolerating things fine until yesterday when I tried tuna. Puréed it and are about 1/4 cup. After I felt as if a rock was stuck. So I figured it was having a hat time digesting. I walked around, drank Water etc. now even when I drink water I can feel it at a certain point pass something and it kinda hurts/ is uncomfortable. Did I just push it to far or what is the deal? I was feeling so much better and now I feel like crap! My muscles hurt, I'm dehydrated (cause it hurts to swallow) and I just want to cry. Help friends! Chelsea

    Anyone had any issues feeling like something was stuck?? I'm on soft/ puréed foods now. Almost 2 weeks post op. I puréed some tuna for lunch... Now I feel like something is stuck in my chest. I'm drinking ok and Water is going down it just feels really uncomfortable. Any ideas?

    Pain?

    How much pain is too much? I've used all my pain meds (as ordered) and not excessively. But I'm Hurting so bad I can't breathe sometimes. I'm constantly bent over in pain. Is this normal ?? It comes and goes. Also, I had gastric bypass march 3. So far I have lost 22 lbs. 286 to 262.

    Welcome! Excited for you! Expect to be a bit "down" and out for week or so- it's rough but completely passes. And of course we are here to help!
  14. That sounds awful!! I am so sorry!! Have you spoken to your husband about it? Maybe you guys need to try to focus on eating healthier as a family in general... That way it's not so hard on you. I'm a week and a half out and I'm doing so much better. Not as depressed and starting to feel like "me" I'm also allowed soft food now so it helps. Try getting a bariatric surgery cookbook- I got one from Amazon and it's created for us AND our family's so they can eat well too and it so good!

    Glad it's not infected! So sorry you're still on liquids only. I'm on soft foods now- but don't each much. Welcome Heather! I'm only now just starting I feel like myself again- it will get better I promise.

    Oh no! Is it draining yellow/white Fluid? Smell? Fever? Itching can be normal it means it is healing but super read/ warm to touch/ draining/ pain is not. So definitely get it checked just in case! (Sorry I'm a nurse) I've put on m workout clothes for the first time since surgery, gonna go for a walk outside and try to get this weight loss going!

    Pretty good as I'm munching on my Protein pop lol a bit nauseas and dehydrated but going to try to drink drink drink today. Haven't been sleeping well (muscle cramps?) But it's a new day!

    Hmmm I would tell your doc, to make sure nothing is blocking your stomach. I'm on soft food but going very very slow!

    Hey Christina! My first week has been HELL! Sooo nauseated and the pain... Yuck! I saw my nutritionist yesterday and she gave me some tips. If you have chocolate Protein or vanilla: Mix chocolate with "PB2" it's dehydrated Peanut Butter at GNC or Vitamin stores. I tried it today- it tastes just like peanut butter cups! (Freeze for a fudge pop treat!) Mix vanilla with a bit of orange extract, and vanilla sugar free pudding and freeze for a dreamsicle! Websites: Baribest.com unjury.com

  24. I would say at least 2 protein shakes a day if you aren't getting enough through food. That's what my NUT said at least. You need a MIN of 60 grams a day of protein.. (Yeah right) but I can manage at least two shakes which is about 46 grams.
  25. No you aren't. I'm 4 days out from gastric bypass and just miserable. Nauseated, dizzy, pain. Not to mention gas times a million and bloated. Having trouble drinking, haven't even tried to eat yet... I read on one of my packets that sometimes the patient get a little emotional or depressed after surgery, but it passed.. I sure hope so cause I'm feeling rough. Also found out I can't tolerate dairy... The hard way. So now my shakes with soy milk. Yum..
