Anyone having the sleeve in april?!
Ndipilato replied to jacquelynndiaz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck to all of you guys getting sleeved this month! I was just sleeved the 2nd and the first few days were a lil rough from recovering from anastesia but now being 4 days out I am feeling great! Very little pain, able to drink without any issue other than burping, tolerating my Protein, and walked a mile yesterday and today! I am so happy for those of you that will be coming to this "side" soon! I know not all surgeries and recoveries are the same but if anyone has questions... I will gladly help and answer what I can . -
Anyone experience lots of burping?
Ndipilato replied to FatBastard79's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just had surgery the 2nd but I burp every time I even think about drinking! Lol. -
Well I am almost 8 hrs post-op! Not going to lie, the pain was/is more than I had hoped! It is fairl under control with the meds and thankfully it not from gas! Catheter wasn't supposed Come out until tomorrow but per my req it is out. Been up washed up and went for a nice walk and feeling a lil better! Can't wait to be able to drink something!

So my sister had the sleeve done in August and she randomly sent me a corky message yesterday giving me a suggestion so I thought I would throw it out there for everyone! You all may have heard it but if not... She suggested I invest in some baby utensils or shrimp forks to help keep my bites smaller when I can start eating again! Seemed like a good idea to me! Even now being over 8 months out she said she still uses the shrimp fork most of the time! Also my dr office sells a divided plate for $17. They have the same size plate and same divisions sizes for $1 at the dollar general or Walmart, only thing is they are kids and come in like Dora, sponge bob, Spider-Man, etc... She recommends getting those as well as saving a few $ if ya don't mind the kids theme. My kids thought it was great cuz I would be using plates like them

I understand your neves! I don't have my surgery til tomorrow and am not yet sure what time I have to be at the hospital, they have until 3 today to let me know, but I am actually glad I work over nights cuz it is keeping me busy but I am a lil ball of energy because my nerves are getting the best of me! I can't wait to begin my "new" life! I know once I wake up from the surgery, no matter how I feel, I will be better cuz it will at least be over with so to say!! Good luck! Let us all know how you do!

Have PCOS and have hair growth on my chin and a little on the sides (like side burns). Does anyone else have this? Did it improve after surgery? I hope so because it is getting to be majorly excessive and I tweeze and sometimes shave it because I can't stand it but by the time I am done with my shift at work, I am getting a 5 o'clock shadow! I am hoping it improves because it is majorly embarrassing and I the thought of any man touching my face because of this is horrifying!

I am scheduled April 2nd! Like some of you it feels like this has been a long journey and as it finally comes to an "end", it is also a start to another amazing journey!! I only have to do 3 days of a full liquid pre-op diet so will be starting my Sunday! I will try to update you all sometime the 2nd or 3rd! Good luck to everyone! We are ALL going to do amazing things and accomplish so much after this month!! Cheers to a new healthy lighter version of all of us!

One of my "tiny" coworkers started running 5ks. When I lost 91 lbs years ago I found I loved to run! Well I told her after my surgery I wanted to start running 5k and laughed saying maybe one day I could run one with her! Well she has been very supportive the last 2 wks and this morning talked me into running a marathon relay race on June 7. My part would be 3 miles! I am not even sleeved yet and to know she thinks I could be ready to run 3 miles in a RACE ON HER TEAM in basically 2 months after surgery is awesome and scary!! Any thoughts? Is that too soon to commit to something like that? I know it is motivation for me but still... Just some stats for more input help.. I currently weigh appox 235 and am 5'8".

Hubbard3rd most people from my understanding aren't "down" for 6 wks providing no complications! My doc told me 2 wks and I can start working out and return to work! I am opting to take 4 wks off to adjust to eating and chance of limited energy because my job is so active! -

Hi beldary, I am being sleeved on April 2nd so we should def keep in touch and will gladly be your "buddy" -
I have been thinking about it for years and seeing myself in pictures was too much so I was NEVER in any photos with my kids! We were looking through pics one day and my daughter said something about me not being in the pics and I realized, my daughters were gonna look through these pics one day and think I was absent in their lives because I was always the one behind the camera out of shame!! I am being sleeved in a week and a half and am looking forward to lots of pics this summer with my girls!!
-
Can't believe this is finally gonna happen! Only a week and half left and it feels like time is going sooo slow! I am so ready and excited to finally do this!! Anyone thinking this is the "easy out" obviously doesn't realize all the work that goes into it in general let alone with what the insurance requires!! I just can't wait to start my "new" life!!

Welcome Misty!! Glad to see you here!! I know 9 months seems like a long time, I only had to do 6 months but honestly it reality it flew by with all the appointments and tests and what not! 6 kids, you are a trooper! Lol. I think you will find this support forum amazing and you will never be "alone". New people are joining and everyone is in different stages so someone can relate to where you are, someone will want to be where you are, and others are farther along and can answer questions so NEVER feel alone!!

I am having surgery April 2. I am currently test tasting Protein drinks and having a really really hard time with the taste! I have always been a VERY picky eater too!! What is everyone's favorites? What is the serving size, calories, & grams of protein in each serving? Why is it your favorite and is there an after taste?

Oops didn't mean to copy that, phone is acting a little strange! I would love to have someone to talk to that understands how I feel fit2bme! It is crazy how life works out! I have tried to explain to him that this is for me and my girl, not to find a man! I am just tired to feel down on myself and having no energy! My daughters deserve the best mom in the world and I feel I am selling them short so to say if I don't love myself!! -
