    What was your reason?

Scared to alter my stomach anatomy. Lap band is least invasive and reversible if I ever had digestive problems in old age or anything g unexpected. Also I didn't know anything about sleeve but once I did, it was also more extreme than I liked. My doc offered sleeve to me but still does lots of bands and encouraged either one for me.

    vacation eating

I agree. Any of us who have lost weight before only to regain it all over time has that fear. I never doubted I'd lose the weight this time. I'm still scared to death of regaining again.

    vacation eating

Gowalking, you are home on familiar turf and you've got this. No regrets. Vacation is just that. You know how I ate in Italy. The small gain came right off and no I did not continue eating bread each day. Back to basics and no harsh self words Missy! I'm so proud of you!

    Hair loss!

I don't believe it's Protein or rapid weight loss. I get plenty of protein and have lost weight quickly before without wls. Never lost my hair then. I started to lose hair at 2 months post op and the worst of it was at 5-6 months. Handfuls. I cried. I'm 7 months out now and not losing nearly as much. I had thick hair to start so I just rolled with it. I only take Flintstones Vitamins and don't use any special shampoo or vitamins. There's hope. Just ride it out. I know it's hard.

    Banders #6

Interesting thing happened this weekend. My daughter texted and asked me what clothing store I like because a friend of hers wants to get me a gift. She wouldn't tell me who or why. I was completely befuddled because I have only been shopping at Goodwill since my size changes every few weeks. She wouldn't take Goodwill for an answer. So here I am thinking of all of my plus size stores and realizing that if I stay on track like I am now, I may not need plus size stores by Christmas and definitely not by spring. I have NO IDEA where I would buy normal size clothes! Seriously. I then suggested Kohl's and she apparently wanted something a little more upscale. ????? So we settled on Avenue because they have regular and plus sizes in the same store with many of the same selections in both ranges. This made me realize that I am nearing the land of the normies. That is very scary to me. I know that there are folks on this thread who feel and have felt the same way. I want to assimilate, but my God, I am in a foreign land here. I have no winter coat. I am between a 1-2x depending on the style and can't bear to buy a coat that will fit me for a month or two. I only buy items from Goodwill that I can toss in the washer. Feeling excited but totally out of my element today. (I also feel like I have a Secret Santa! LOL)

Best thing about fasting days is I can drink my coffee right away because I don't have to wait half an hour after Breakfast. I brought some homemade chicken for lunch and baby carrots. I'm so happy this method has helped me to restart my weight loss and achieve one of my big goals. Second big goal within one to two weeks for sure!! My daughter comes in for a visit from college Friday. Can you say motivated to get to Onederland ??? Woo hoo!

    New to lap band...,concerned...

My team told me that the pain should improve a little each day, and if it got worse to call them. I personally did not have much pain and definitely felt pretty good by one week out. Good luck. Call your doctor if you need to. That's what they are there for.
  17. Good luck. Post when you can.
  18. All over the map. Many people temporarily gain which is normal. If you stick to the eating plan from your team it will come off.
  19. I had my first fill at six weeks during which I was on full liquids. Next fill was about two months later. Then monthly.

    If food gets stuck...

Stop. Chewing. Immediately. That is all.
  21. "Oh, I'm not? How big am I?" Just kidding. Nobody ever told me that. But then again I only told five people. A few more later but selectively.
  22. I have multicolored fat? Who knew?

I joined the century club this morning. 100 pounds lost as of today. Two pounds away from Onederland. I'm so happy and humbled to be here today. And I won't lie, kinda weepy. Love you all, my crazy banders!

Vasovagal Syncope ( Fainting ) episode

Just found this thread. I'm very interested in this for two reasons. First is my daughter, who is not banded or obese but is six feet tall and nineteen years old, has had occasional fainting spells. She's been checked out and diagnosed with Neurocardiogenic Syncope. Her fainting often occurred after sleeping too long and not eating breakfast and then going to church and kneeling. (3 times under those conditions.) Cardiologist said her BP tends to run low and plummets, so she needs to maintain good sodium levels (Gatorade) and not oversleep which causes dehydration. Her other fainting spells were at home after waking from a long teenage sleep and then walking downstairs to the bathroom. I have heard anecdotally that this is more common in very tall girls. Blood going down to feet with gravity as mentioned above. Coincidentally, catfish, she noticed no incidents during allergy season while she was on Claritin. Claritin raises blood pressure. Knowing that, she sometimes takes Claritin to keep symptoms at bay. Second reason this interests me is that I had several weeks of dizziness this summer. I attributed it to recent weight loss and not adjusting my high BP meds. I would get very dizzy but not pass out after exiting my car and going into a store to shop. I was always holding a cart and never got so bad to sit down or see white or anything. But real sudden and just dizzy. I then stopped taking my second BP med each day and over time this dizziness stopped. I had almost forgotten about it until I read this thread. My BP is normal with one instead of two BP meds now. I'm eager to ditch the second med but my BP goes up again without it, at least for now. Anyway, I hope you're getting relief and feeling good now. Thanks to everyone for all the info.
