Head hunger mixed with real hunger today. Ugh. So I took lunch an hour before I usually do because I couldn't stop thinking about food. I ate okay, didn't overdo it. I'm all frazzled this week. I'm close to Onederland and looking forward to a visit home from one college daughter. The other one isn't coming home until Thanksgiving. Im worried about money and my divorce and tuition that's due and and and ..... Some days just suck. But I will not overeat. I deserve the rewards for the work I've done to make my life and health better. None of these stressors are going to derail me. One. Giant. Nerve. Ending. That is all.

Who will you tell that you are having WLS?
JustWatchMe replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Tell fewer people than you feel you want to. You may tell more later. Can't undo it. And people blab. I did not want opinions tossed my way. -
What's your favorite mode of movement (exercise)?
JustWatchMe replied to blacktxbelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Walking is the only thing I do and I need to do way more of it. I can be very lazy. I have a walking partner once a week and we walk about five miles in one evening. -
How long were you off of work?
JustWatchMe replied to gbb77901's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery Thursday back to desk job Monday. Tired and sore but felt good to get back to regular life. On the treadmill one day post op on doctor's orders. Started at fifteen minutes and added a minute a day until I could walk two miles at 3mph. I'm 53. -
Tell fewer people than you think you want to. I told five at first. Later added a few more. I do not welcome the Peanut Gallery's opinions.

What does the "green zone" feel like?
JustWatchMe replied to Lola O's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What @@labwalker said. If I eat Protein first and moderate portions and slowly and chewed well and I obey the stop signals I get I lose weight. I also stay unhungry for 4 hours. I don't snack. I'm at green now. Any tighter and I'll be getting stuck on the above. As it is now I only get stuck if I break those rules. If I eat carbs or anything other than protein first, I stop losing. The band is a helper. I have to do the work. I've had four fills. -
It was a 0x in a plus size store. It just cracked me up. The Petite comes from the length. Trust me I'm not a zero or even a sixteen. I base sizes on a Levi's shirt I bought in 1978 marked L that fit me well when I weighed 156 pounds at 5'6". That's my goal shirt. Today it would probably be considered a negative five. Yes these slacks are from Catherine's and they are the smallest ones in a style I like. Unfortunately regular slacks usually don't fit my thick waist, no matter what my size. So although I'm happy to have gone down so much, i'm kind of dreading the day when I have to buy slacks in a regular store.

It was 0x, not 0. But it made me laugh.

Good luck!

Your response to: "but you aren't 'THAT' big!"
JustWatchMe replied to MisforMimi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I can lose weight. Without wls I can't keep it off. -
I've never had long hair and a thin body at the same time. So I'm not cutting it short until I reach goal. And maybe not then.

I was feeling so good recently and yesterday my arthritis began another flare. I hate this autoimmune s@&t. Top that off with a bad night's sleep and a stiff and painful neck today and I'm not the most pleasant person right now. Food is clean. I have to get rid of the feeling of unfairness I have when my food is clean and therefore I expect all my health problems to go away permanently.

Jack, love your post. Sport eating, all of it.

Hiatal Hernia or something else?
JustWatchMe replied to SarahRN482's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks. I am always worried about complications of the band. I appreciate your sharing. -
I was on liquids for six weeks post band. If you are too, try not to "wash" your protein through too fast. What I mean is, treat a liquid protein meal just like a solid meal. No drinking for at least half an hour after it. I found that if I let my protein shake "sit" in me for half an hour or more without drinking after, it held me longer. And be sure you're getting enough protein. It's tempting to live on soups in this phase but protein is what holds hunger at bay. Good luck!

Surgery Date Taking Too Darned Long
JustWatchMe replied to CocoPebbles1030's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And sorry to be a buzzkill but I would opt for the December 8 surgery because if you have issues or questions I'm not sure you're going to be able to reach your regular team over Thanksgiving weekend. -

That's not as far away as it sounds. You'll need a pre op diet anyway. Congratulations on getting approved! -
