  3. Just saw this and don't have time to type much right now, but YES this is normal and you are worth this life changing surgery. Doubts are healthy. Research is key. Get yourself to hospital support groups for WLS patients. They are free and you don't even have to be a patient. I go to three different hospitals' groups. I started going pre surgery. Good luck and stay connected here. This site is a godsend.

    3 weeks post op

    Chew chew chew chew chew. But also cut up the food vvveeeerrrryyy small. Sounds insane but it works. I slowly made it through most of a pork chop yesterday and was fully satisfied. Good luck !!

    @@ready2B your post sounds like me. I've said often that I once lost 130 pounds and got down to 156 and a size ten. It was the best 20 minutes of my life.

    A few Banders never need a fill. Talk to your doctor and be observant about your eating patterns.

    Weird feeling when eating

    You sound too tight. My fills were small leading up to green and I still have to chew well and eat slowly or I get stuck. But when I chew well and eat slowly I can eat solid foods just fine. Good luck.

    Ouch. Can you stock your desk with Quest bars and protein shakes and then set your cell phone alarm and force yourself to stop for fifteen minutes? Please don't run yourself down. We need to make our health a priority. Good luck! I hope you're fully staffed soon!

    Pizza

    Wow I was banded in March and I can't remember the last time I ate pizza. I think I tried it after banding but I don't remember. I used to wipe out half or more of a thin crust party size pizza by myself, or two giant pieces of Chicago stuffed pizza without blinking an eye. At LEAST once every two weeks. I needed the volume. Apparently that was the draw because I don't crave it or even desire to try it now. I vaguely remember tasting pizza in Italy back in May, but that might have been the only time.

    Summer Rain, you've helped a lot of people by posting today's update. We all have weeks and months feeling like you described. Your turnaround even before surgery is awesome.     I'm with @HealthyNewMe. I've watched loved ones eat crazy restrictive diets and have done it myself enough to say never again. My band diet is sensible and varied.

    Starting 5:2 and no scale this week

    Okay I don't know if this is good or bad. I was able to eat a pork chop today! I am so excited! I missed my pork chops. The difference is that I cut the pork chop into tiny tiny tiny pieces and chewed forever. I ate it so slowly. I did notice that I felt satiety sooner than usual. I didn't finish the pork chop. My dog got part of it. So I guess I actually can have pork if I chew it well enough, and eat it slowly enough.

    This made me think. We do hold celebrities to a different standard and expect them to tell all. They have a right to privacy too. But his explanation seems very detailed. More so than just dodging a surgery question.

    Who knows. It could be legit. My mom lost 150 pounds back in the seventies by eating salads with cut up hot dogs and cottage cheese for a year. Ugh. But like gowalking said, she didn't keep it off for more than a couple of years.
