Have you faced divorce?
JustWatchMe replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It was coming for years but I had to get out of my food stupor to take action. It's the most difficult thing I've ever done. -

Have you faced divorce?
JustWatchMe replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Decided before my surgery. Mentally and emotionally abusive relationship. I needed to get my shit together to have the strength to leave. I did that five months post op. It's hard as hell but better than life was before. -
Your dream outfit
JustWatchMe replied to bobbyswife's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sigh. Ain't happening with my flabby belly skin. -
Sorry. Late Friday brain fried humor attempt. If I Googled this at work, I'd either get unwanted attention from the IT network monitoring group, or maybe a date. Or both.

Thanks to all my bander friends who keep me sane daily. Luvya.

Weight Loss Surgery Gift List
JustWatchMe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
This is what I'm asking my nearest and dearest for this Christmas: Foot massage salon gift certificates. Earrings. Mittens (my gloves don't keep my hands warm anymore). Mini infinity scarves in several colors (warmth again). hair salon gift certificate. I'm all about pampering! -
Because of another thread, I remembered I kept this dress in my closet. Fifteen years ago I wore this and it was tight. Today it's loose and I need to buy some grown up lady shoes before I can't wear it this season! Happy day.

Ok here it is. It fits loosely. Good thing I remembered it was in the closet! I haven't worn this in fifteen years. Love me some shoulder pads. Lol. -
To Win the Battle of the Bulge, You Must Win the Battle with Your Brain
JustWatchMe replied to Warren L. Huberman PhD.'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
For me, thoughts feed emotions. Emotions create anxiety (good or bad = restless feeling). Anxiety is uncomfortable. My old habits were to medicate uncomfortable feelings with food to deaden them. New behavior = don't medicate/eat the feelings away. New behavior is uncomfortable. What to do? Address the thoughts that led to the emotions. The thinking that got the cycle started. New thoughts = new emotions. New behavior = new habits. Stop the thinking in its tracks. Replace the old "tapes in my head" with new messages. The hardest part about losing the weight is not the surgery or the rules I follow as a bander. It's breaking the old habits, the old cycle of thinking/feeling/eating. New habits take time. They need to be nurtured. Great article. -
Delayed First Fill
JustWatchMe replied to Seymour1971's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It takes several fills to get lasting restriction. The first few days is swelling and irritation. Then the band settles in. I've had five fills and I have 7.60 cc in my 14cc band. I just had 0.1 put in yesterday. I was thinking I was in the green zone but after about two months of that level I felt I could try a tiny bit more. So this is truly an experiment now. Lasting satiety is the goal. Four hours between protein meals. -
Your dream outfit
JustWatchMe replied to bobbyswife's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just remembered I have a little black dress in my closet that I wore at a slightly higher weight than I am now. OMG. I wonder if I could attempt heels. I may actually have a Christmas dress, people. -
Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
JustWatchMe replied to JustWatchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a tiny fill of 0.1 cc and I'm on 48 hours of liquids. My nurse is the greatest. She was thrilled that I had lost over nine pounds since my last visit. But it's been 3 months, I said! She said this is when it gets harder. I always take two Tylenol caplets during my fills to make sure I can swallow pills before I walk out of the office. That went fine. I lost the Thanksgiving gain already and a little more. I checked against my home scale when I got home. It feels good to be making progress again. My fasting day of Thursday will be skipped this week because I'm on liquids Wednesday and Thursday. Have a good day everyone! -
Congratulations !! Such a gift to be happy and healthy for your new grandbaby!

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
JustWatchMe replied to JustWatchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Focusing on solid protein and way less soft foods like hummus this week. Avoiding noodles and potatoes. I have a fill appointment Tuesday. I'll discuss with my nurse and decide if a tiny fill is in order. Happy Monday! Fasting day today. -
