    Not at work today. It will be hard to get some exercise in today. Dinner out with friends. I'll have seafood and keep today's total under 1500 calories.

    Fitness trackers

    I like my FitBit One also. It tracks stairs and steps and syncs up with MyFitnessPal and my iPhone. I don't really use it for the calories since I rely on MyFitnessPal for that. But I wear it to bed and track restless sleep too. It's always on my bra or my nightgown. I only have to charge it about once a week.

    There's a new hire in our department who started last week. This may be the first person in my daily life who never knew me as morbidly obese. For some reason this really intrigues me. I'm whoever I want to be and I'm not defined by my size.

    Wednesday 1529 calories and 24 flights of stairs. Thursday half day of work due to doctor appointment but I'll get the stairs in.

    I heard a great line in a motivational podcast today. It had to do with getting trapped in old defeatist thinking and replacing those thoughts with positive thoughts for change. "I had to stop listening to myself and start talking to myself."

    So many of us have a plate full. Pun intended. I'm buried in divorce discovery crap. My counselor advised me to take Friday off work so I could devote the day to it because I'm so stressed. So I will. Step by step and day by day. Thank God my food is in order and even though I don't exercise, I've been walking stairs at work daily faithfully. Doing taxes, keeping tabs on my daughter gallivanting all over Europe (I'm jealous) and stressing out over too many bills and too little money. Oh well! Just for today I can handle it. What's the alternative? I'm strong and determined and on the right path. It will all work out in God's time and someday this will be a distant memory. And the happy thing is I'm feeling more fit and better looking and that makes me feel good. So there.

  16. Our company bought updated corporate polo shirts. When I was hired I didn't even fit in their largest one, 2xl. Yesterday I ordered a large and it fits!!
  17. Losing weight has reduced my need for pain relief. I only occasionally take arthritis Tylenol now. I went off NSAIDS a week before surgery. My knee pain is much less and my back pain is gone.

    Note to self. Get those stairs in at work early in the day. It's not easy doing 24 flights in an hour. But I did. I'm on track with my food and feeling good. Glad to have this thread as a daily reminder. Also I had some decaf coffee on the weekend but back to Water today. I've been trying to drink more water instead of coffee and it seems to be better for me all around.

    Walk a lot and ask a pal to do karate chops on your neck and shoulders a few times a day.
  24. He checked me at four weeks post op and it's been the NP ever since for fills.
