    Here's an arm up. And a secret. I get off the wagon every night and climb back on every morning. This is a lifetime commitment for me. I'm not perfect. I've made changes that have lasted, but not perfectly and certainly not all at once. Every day and every meal is a choice. Climb back up! You can do it!

    Caffeine?

    I gave up caffeine several months ago and am very happy I did. I sleep better and have less anxiety. If I accidentally get served regular coffee I can tell afterwards, and I don't like the antsy feeling anymore.

  9. Sounds like my experience. It should slowly improve. If it gets worse or something really painful occurs, call your doc right away.

    Looks like my daughter landed a summer job at the company I work for. This is great news. She's just waiting to hear her starting date. I will have a lunch/walking buddy!

    Changed up my food plan today after talking to my daughters yesterday about my crummy food choices. Committing to saying buh-bye to my favorite greasy fried foods. I made it through today just fine. One ounce of leftover beef tips for Breakfast, cheese sticks for a snack, tomato Soup and grilled chicken chopped salad for lunch, yogurt and pumpkin seeds for dinner. Tomorrow will be fresh, healthy choices for breakfast and lunch, and a healthy meal cooked by my daughter for supper. This last fifty pounds is coming OFF, people!!!
  12. I interrupt my meal. About five minutes in, I get up, go to the bathroom, wash my hands, and return to the table. That mini break from chewing is often enough time for my brain to get the message that I've eaten something. It makes it then easier for me to continue slowly, and decide after each bite whether I'm satisfied or not. Slowing things down dramatically is the only way I know of to "hear" my soft stops.

  16. My annual Thanksgiving ritual was to cook the turkey the night before, and then when nobody was looking, eat all of the crispy turkey skin. Off of a 20 pound bird. Every year. Ah, the good old days.
  17. Way to go! I started out at 302. I told only my boss at work about my surgery. At one point he told me privately that I looked great and I must have lost 20 pounds! I smiled and said thanks. It was 60 but I didn't tell him that.

    I didn't get that warning but if it's not the size of the vitamins, could it be the irritation to the stomach? Iron is hard on the stomach. Just a guess.

    I hate raw onions due to the lasting effect they have on me for about two days. Headaches and horrible breath. Cooked onions, sautéed onions, onion rings, onion soup, no problem. Love 'em even.

    I love love love NSV posts! Some that come to mind: Crossing my legs in a bar like the hottie I am. Wearing blouses with buttons. They don't gap anymore! Jeggings. Enjoying exercise. Not sweating profusely with every exertion. Taking stairs with ease. No back pain. No foot pain. Wore heels for the first time in ages. Leaving food on my plate on a regular basis. Choosing food as fuel instead of entertainment on a regular basis. Caring about my hair and nails and skin and general girliness. Saying yes to social invitations more and more. Waking up early even on my days off ready to fill my day with activity. So much room between me and the steering wheel. Not worrying about weighing too much for furniture to hold me. Sliding into a giant restaurant booth with a bunch of people. Feeling more energetic and youthful at age 54 than I did at 34.
