Do You Have a Weight Loss Surgery Role Model?
JustWatchMe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm the only person I know in real life who is banded, or had WLS at all, for that matter. The bariatric support group from my hospital was comprised of pre- and recently-post-op patients. I stopped attending those meetings mostly due to scheduling issues. A few people on this site are my role models. They don't necessarily know who they are, but they are forces of good here and are always supportive not only to me, but to newbies. Love them to bits. -
So what's changed?
JustWatchMe replied to LoseItKacy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Bander here. Used to love pork roast, but it gets stuck now. I've recently given up fried foods (except for my weekly Thai indulgence) and I'm hoping that will help me start to lose again. I was never a sweet craver, but I can really easily bypass chocolate and any sweets now. Haven't craved pizza since surgery and I've only had it about twice. I now love balsamic vinaigrette instead of buckets of ranch dressing. -
I will be a cave woman tonight at a swing dance party. Life is good. Pics later.

Yuck! The odor of improperly, long packed-away clothing.
JustWatchMe replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in The Lounge
My daughter used to compete in Irish dancing. The heavy elaborate costumes would get odors from sweat, and some members of the community swore by vodka in a spray bottle. They would spray the underarms of the costume and let it air dry. I've never tried it but I heard this so often that I think it's a real thing. -
I just want to send you some support as well. I filed for divorce four months post op. Not the same, I know, but you can come through this stronger and healthy. Take care.

I met with my NP yesterday. She checked my band and it is fine. No additional fill. I'm going to give up the fried food and up my exercise. She was very encouraging.

Sending prayers for both of you. You're one strong lady!

Congrats and welcome!

The powder Room wouldn't let me make a post, so I'll try this here. Are there any brands of panties that are actually pretty on a person with a panni (apron)? Finally found a bra style I like. But I never, ever have been able to find panties that look nice on my body, 100 pounds ago or now. I'm years away from plastics, if ever. Any recommendations, ladies?

What Your Halloween Plans?
JustWatchMe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Where I'm living right now gets NO trick or treaters, so I don't have to buy candy. Candy is also not my trigger. I can easily pass it by, even chocolate. As long as I don't start. Two friends and I are going to a Halloween party at a local ballroom. It was such fun to buy a costume off the rack that fit me on the first try. I plan to nurse my cranberry juice and have lots of fun. -
I would try it.

Hi friends. I have been reading but not posting. It's been a very stressful couple of weeks. Two weeks ago was my mother-in-law's wake and funeral. Yesterday I had a deposition. Over three hours of questions, many hostile, from opposing counsel. I was extremely stressed out over it in anticipation the entire week. It was difficult and infuriating, but as in all things, it served to make me stronger. I learned a few things. I'm better answering on my feet than I thought I was. Although he won't say so, it appears from his comments about the house appraisal that my wasband will opt to stay in the family residence instead of sell. We're going to have a fight about the dog. And one big thing I learned is that I don't have the temperament to be an attorney (always wondered if I should have pursued other career options in my youth). "Wasband" is my new, shorter version of NSETBEx. I stole the term from my divorce support group. During all of this, my food has been moderate but I have not been losing. I have a fill appointment next week. I'm going to go for a tiny fill but I'm pretty tight at times already, so this is getting chancy now. I want a good thorough discussion with my NP before she gives me the fill. I hope to post more here in the next couple of weeks now that the deposition is behind me. Next step is pretrial hearing in a few weeks. My lawyer also wants to set a trial date at that hearing and the judge is already choosing trial dates in March. So if this goes to trial, the date for that could be March or April. At least things are moving, albeit slowly. Thanks for always being here and sharing your lives. Even when I don't post, I get so much strength from this thread.

What a joyful NSV!

Furthermore, you can ask for a numbing agent on the skin before they put the needle in. Then you truly feel almost nothing. I'm not afraid of needles, but I always get the numbing agent anyway.

Happy birthday! Your post was very inspiring. Way to go! -
Hang tough. Yes, it's real and it sucks. But it's very temporary. The payoff is so so so worth it.

Good luck and speedy healing.

Here's my hundred!! -
The wake and funeral were difficult for my daughters and me but I am so immensely proud of them and grateful to God for giving me such wonderful daughters. They have taken the high road in all encounters with my ex's family and truly exhibit grace under pressure. Ive been driving for what feels like forever so I am glad I have tomorrow off. Legal crapola tomorrow. It never ends!!
