  1. Yes I meant to say unread is everything on all forums. But subscribed and participated look accurate.
  2. Subscribed is what you are following. Participated is the ones you answered. Unread is everything.
  3. "heated the escargot in the office microwave with some spray butter, garlic, salt, and parsley" You didn't. Snails and garlic heated up at WORK? Omg. I thought it was bad having to smell my coworker's sandwich loaded with onions every day. Sorry. I'm on two days of liquids after a band adjustment and I'm hungry and crabby. *drinks her Protein shake and waits for 5pm when she can have food again*
  4. MyFitnessPal is great!
  5. I hate tuna so I never have it. I like canned chicken but only have it occasionally. What about cheeses, eggs, deli meats, other types of meats that you can prepare ahead and portion out for lunches, like ground beef, Italian sausage, turkey, etc? I'm a carnivore and love meat. If I have a steak I can make three meals out if it. I don't hesitate to eat it for Breakfast if my band cooperates. Do you like hummus? That's a new favorite for me with celery or carrots. Good luck getting out of the food rut.
  6. When it's not freezing or rebooting I do like the new format a lot. It's easy to navigate and to like a post, etc.

    Let's talk about NSAIDs

I was banded in March. I was on nabumetone for years for arthritis in my knees, shoulders and elbows. I never thought I would survive without my NSAIDs. I filled a prescription for liquid Tylenol after surgery because I was told I would probably not be able to swallow pills. Tylenol was no match for my arthritis. However, as the weight came off the pain went way way down. Today I take two arthritis tylenol in the morning and only occasionally again in the evening. My pain is very manageable now. I would never have believed it six months ago. But I also wouldn't have believed I'd be off of a blood pressure medicine, off of Prevacid, and off of my cholesterol med. Life is good.
  12. I only have trouble with pork chops for some reason. Not sure why but after two stuck episodes I'm not trying again. That's the only troublesome food so far. Weight loss was fast in the beginning and moderate now. I exercised more rigorously in the beginning but I walk a lot more now.

Not Spanx. I was looking for that one but Catherine's didn't have that brand. Not sure what brand this is. I'd check but I'd have to wiggle out and back in. I'll check later. Lol.

39lbs down and at green zone!

Congratulations!!! How exciting. Life is good. You look beautiful and your joy comes through in your post as well. I'm narrowing in on my green zone and it gets better each day.
  15. Saving so much on meds and junk food. Spending on clothes but right now using Goodwill for my losing period. Restaurant eating is way cheaper because I order off the appetizer menu or just get sides a lot. And no soft drinks in the restaurant. I go to the grocery store much less frequently which also staves off other impulse buying of stuff I don't need.

Post op is a turbulent time. If you made it this far, pat yourself on the back. This site is the place for support whether we're feeling great or crappy. Haha. Autocorrect changed "support" to "supper". Guess what I type about a lot.
  18. Pre op was five days Clear liquids. That was hard but short. Post op was six weeks full liquids. That was long but not too bad. Only got weary of it in the last two weeks. Post op I could have cream Soups so I had lobster bisque and other soups I loved. Bottom line is that if you are motivated you will do it. It is so incredibly worth it. Don't freak yourself out. You are capable of this and it will change your life. Good luck!

    Almost 5 months in!

Sorry to hear you've had trouble. Three of my four fills were done under X-ray and I like it that way. I watch the swallow test and then I actually take my arthritis Tylenol caplets after the fill while we watch the monitor to make sure they don't get stuck. I love my nurse. The one time I didn't have the xray was because the room was in use for another surgical patient, not WLS. I will insist on waiting for the fluoroscope from now on. If I were you I'd ask for it each time and demand to know why not if they say no. You paid for this. Get the best care you can.
  21. When you wake up you will be in Bandland!

    Delaying surgery?

Little to none. My daughter drove me home. My husband wasn't involved. Don't lift or carry heavy stuff for a week. If your kids need lifting enlist a babysitter for a few days. Don't wait for him to help you. There is never a perfect time for WLS but you are worth it.

9 days post op. Still have tremendous shoulder pain.

If it is gas, karate chops to the neck and shoulders will give temporary relief.
