    I crossed my legs today

Congratulations what a victory!! I have never been able to cross mine without holding it in place. I too can cross mine. My son giggled and congratulated me when I showed him.
  2. Think I maybe in the green zone. 5fills don't get hungry between meals however, I can eat 8 oz at dinner sometimes. My Dr said don't worry about 8 oz its still less than what I use to eat. Breakfast is a protein ssmoothie normal 4oz lunch.
  3. Hello everyone, I am a little over 4 months out of surgery. Total lost 70lbs since Feb 2014, down 40 since surgery May 14. I have a 10 cc band with 5cc in. My last fill she put in 1cc I have only lost 2lbs since the fill. Most evenings I have a stuck episode and the past last night was the strangest one of all. I ate and waited the hour to drink. About 1.5-2 hrs after eating I got a tight feeling in my back and chest. Nose started running, eyes began to Water. The pain is so bad that I thought I was about to die. Tried drinking water, coughing it up but nothing, patted my chest nothing and then jumped up and down a little and again nothing. It finally subsided and I was able to return to my job. Has anyone had this before? Usually if I have a stuck episode it is typically right after eating not approx. 2hrs later. It only happens at my dinner meal. Thank God it did not happen tonight. Do you think I am too tight? If I was too tight would this be happening at each meal? I am also at my first stall :-( Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Rose
  4. My monthly has gone from 7 days heavy to 2-3 days light....loving the surgery benefits and the loss of 70 pounds.
  5. Surgery is a big decision! For 14 years I have been talking about having wls. But I would start a diet doing great then life kicks in,get distracted and then realize I'm back plus some from where I started in weight. My ex husband motivated me unfortunately it took him dying of a massive heart attack at 45 to get me to the its now or never point. Ask yourself if you could not focus solely on you weigh loss life happened, would you be able to keep losing/maintain or would you possibly can it all back? This is Your life you will know when you are mentally ready to change your life. Getting the band has saved my life. 4 months out and next month I get rid of my blood pressure pills and insulin pump. Only you know what to do!!!

I use lose it. I used this app for many of my weight loss attempts. This time it's different because my tool and I are working together. I love my band and my body loves me for having less weight to carry.

    Stall every 10lbs ish...

Right after a fill I will drop 6-8 lbs the first week. Then for the next 3 weeks the scale tortures me by going up and down. Even with all this last month I managed to drop 11 lbs.

A Brush with Death Is A Powerful Thing.

As I wipe my tears I see myself in parts of your journey. You inspire me,you didn't give up kept pushing till you figured it out. Kudos to you and thanks for sharing.
  11. After surgery while in recovery I told the nurse I peed on myself. She told another nurse and they proceeded to clean me up. However, I apparently still had to pee cause I heard the nurse say "she peeing again" I was in and out from the drugs unaware of my bladder issues. When I was more alert i apologized to the nurse for peeing on her....lol She said that was better than being pooped on. She said yes pooped on.
  12. Terrydumont46,I'm on an insulin pump getting 2.75 units every hour. No insulin at meals. Put a call into my diabetes doc to see about some alternatives to not using the pump. Thanks for the advise I will try that eat something and make an appointment to talk to someone. Just watch me thanks for the well wishes. I'm not hungry between meals bu my head tells me I need to eat. I fear my sugars dropping too low especially at night.
  13. Hello everyone, I am now 9 weeks post op. Since surgery I am down 23lbs, since Feb (2014) I am down 52lbs. I have had two fills and am not hungry in between meals. Im a diabetic with an insulin pump. My blood sugars hang around the 120ish number which is good(80-120) normal range. The problem I am having is that my mind(head) keeps telling me to eat so my sugar don't drop over night. This causes me to get up in the middle of the night and eat something. Usually I grab some form of Protein. I'm in fear of my sugar getting too low thus I am eating. I seem to be sad white a bit lately. Missing my comfort food, being full however, not satisfied with what I ate leaving me to eat something else later. Since I am feeling depressed I feel that maybe a reason why I'm not satisfied with my food. Any guidance, tips, what you did if you had a similar or same issue? Rose

    Post op eating

Once you get banded it's a new ballgame. You will be AMAZED at how a little food fills you up for hours. Depending on what I'm eating I can barely eat 4oz. Every now and then I can get up to 7oz ...not often. Congrats on taking the first step to a healthier you. Rose
  15. Sure hope I don't lose my girls:-)

    Protein

Congrats on being banded.I would call your doctor to confirm. My daily goal is 60-80. I shoot for 80 per day and have no problems. Lunch meat that is lean is OK with my Dr. Typically 5-6 thin slices is 2oz.I would invest in a food scale, it is really an important tool.

    2nd Fill

I am 7 weeks post-op and just received my 2nd fill. A little nervous when it was time to get on the scale. In In the past I would be ashamed of how much I had gained. Today I was nervous of how much I had lost. My appt. went well today bp 115/75 and I was down 8 pounds. I was told to try to get at least 30mins of exercise a day. NP says it can be 30 mins, (2) 15 mins, or (3) 10 mins. I have a 10cc band.....1st fill was 2cc and today she added another 1.5cc making that a total of 3.5 cc in my band. How do you handle the doubting that you chose the right surgery? Oh yeah she told me to eat more im averaging about 500-600 daily, she wants me around 1000. Before my fill for the last two days I was having a slight headache and eating more than usual. My NP says that those where small signs that I needed a fill. Now onto losing more weight and praying for NO stalls along the way. Loving my band and my new life!!! Rose
  18. Congratulations to all of you for taking that step to be a healthier "YOU". I was banded 5/27/14 and it has been a good experience overall. The feeling of did I do the right thing I am sure will go away eventually, I still am having them but again I am only a lil over two months post-op. You all will do great just remember listen to your doctor and follow the plan as best as you can, the band is your friend not your enemy. Congrats Again!! Rose
  19. Congrats, as mentioned previously by labwalker you give us slow losers hope.

    The Elimination Game...

I was 6 days post op and had returned to Protein shakes, creamed Soups before I had my first one. But with this new eating amounts I am not regular and it bothers me but I have to remember that what I eat for a whole day is probably what I would eat for a whole meal pre-banded. The amount coming in is less therefore I feel the amount going out will be less. Best of luck to you and I did take miralax for about a week but did not see much of a difference. My doctor suggested prune juice if you think you need to go and can't. She said its natural and gentle....I just can't do prune juice..YUCK! Rose

    Still Gobbling Food

ICanMakeIt, The suggestion to use baby spoons is also my advice. Since, I had Jello get stuck right after surgery I decided to use my grandsons spoons. He looks at his Nana like what are you doing....LOL Eating with a smaller spoon does help the amount that goes in however, don't forget we still need to chew chew chew....I am still working on that part....we are a work in progress. One day one step at a time!!

    Am I the only one?

I too am still new to this and often have the same problem of wondering what to eat. eggs beaters, tuna, chicken, cheese, lunch meat, pickles can get old and you want something different. Over the holiday I did fix Protein pancakes. The couple times I have gone out since being banded one time I ordered a kids meal and the other time my bestie and I just ordered appetizers. As long as we have each other we can draw from each others experiences. So glad I found this group before my lapband. Rose
