I was taught in Nursing school that a clear liquid is.When you can see the bottom of your cup.Good Luck!

If you are going to drink up to just prior to eating then I would wait at least an hour after eating to drink.

I agree with Joe my doc said the same thing 30min before meals stop drinking and 30 min.after a meal.I sometimes find my self going longer than 30 min.after unless I eat a lot of garlic.I'm 7 months out.Good Luck!

The same thing happened to me.I told the Doc that I could still eat like I did,but I knew I had to control myself til I got the 1st fill.Don't get frustrated it will happen.Everybody's body is different.

Where do you buy the Protein bullets?I've never heard of them.I could use them.I only get enough protein with the shakes.Thanks

You do not have to cut them off.During the surgery they can be taped down.I never heard of canceling surgery because jewelry could not be removed.

Personally I like the pre mixed shakes by EAS Walmart carries them.I don't care for the French Vanilla personally.I like the chocolate and strawberry.

clear liquids are anything you can see to the bottom of the cup.Beer doesn't count.LOL

Jodi, I have the exact same issue since my band was tighten.I use to be able to burp so loud my husband would say I could shake the walls.Now my kids keep trying to challenge me and I can't do it.I usually hiccup once after I eat a meal.Then I know I'm full.

Hi Jennifer, Where in Upstate NY are you from?I live in Liverpool NY people usually know Syracuse better.Don't let that dietician get you to frustrated.You could lose even more then what she says.I know from experience how hard it is to lose 13lbs.If you put your mind to it you can do it.They didn't tell me how much I needed to lose prior to the surgery.I managed,not sure how,to lose 26lbs in 6 months prior to my surgery.As long as they see you are losing weight when you go in there should be no problem.Just hang in there.Good luck! I had the same issue.My doc said Benadryl liquid by mouth.I told him it puts me to sleep.So I tried Benadryl cream around the incisions or generic version.I would also take the benadryl by mouth at night,so I would not itch the incisions at night while I slept.Good Luck.

I had lortab(vicodan) in liquid form postop.The only way I could describe it is,it tasted like flat beer to me.I took it for the 1st 4 days and I got sick of sleeping all day.I switched to motrin every 6 hrs and only took the the lortab at bed time.I slept great and could stay awake all day.I hope that helps.:thumbup:

Hello I just had my band done on 6/23.My doc told me to wait til things were healed.Don't worry you can find ways around it,if you know what I mean.I waited about 10 days.But of course had sex the nite before surgery.There were no problems or pain to help answer your question.Every thing is still in the same place no slippage.

Hi again I'm doing good no pain in the incisions but I keep getting this weird twinge in my left breast which I think is gas.I have a lot of gas.I hope you got a hold of the nurse about the drainage.I'm a nurse and I would be concerned,get it checked out.Well hope to hear back from you soon.I do my 1st postop check on Monday.

I just had my band on 6/23.I found the best way to lay on my side,was to put a small pillow under my belly when i laid I my side.I also kept my head elevated with 3 pillows that helped me sleep.

I had to do the liquid diet 2wks.preop and now I'm on my 2wks postop liquid.I lost 5lbs in the 1st week of liquids.Now I'm up to 12lbs.total from 3 wks on liquid.If I can do it trust me anyone can do it.Just make sure you get in 3 protein shakes a day.I was also allowed pudding and jello.I also like tomato soup tha would be my dinner with a shake.

It finally came and went so quickly.It seems like just yesterday I got the call for my Band date.I'm excited it's over so now and can get things rolling.I'm bruised at all my sites but that's ok.I find that Motrin is working better for me then Lortab elixer.But the Lortab helps me sleep.I have lots of gas but it's working it's way out.My feet are swollen from all the fluid I got ,but I'm trying to keep them elevated.Well I just wanted to stop in and say hello.Thankyou everyone for all my questions you've answered along the way.Thanks for the support.:thumbs_up:

I'm wondering what kind of multivit do people take postop?Are there any that taste better than others.There are so many shakes on the market out there.I was wondering which ones are better or higher in protein? Slimfast has a High protein shake but not low carb it has 190cal.I'm just curious what everyone is drinking. Thanks.

I finally got a date for my surgery 6/23.My question is Does there seem like there is more pain when you have the 2 surgeries done together?:crying:I know it has to be done to put the band on.It's a small hiatal hernia thank god.I would appreciate any feedback I can get.I am so excited I have a date.:smile: Donna
