my dr.did a barium swallow,because I had reflux after gall bladder surgery so he wanted to see what the cause was.I hope that helps.

I've been trying to cut back on my diet soda intake.I know I have to give it up,for at least a year,but I gave it up to have my children I think I can do it again.I like the sugar free iced tea and the Walmart sugar free packs that you mix in 16.5 oz of water.

Wear your sneakers when you get weighed.There's 2 lbs right there.Some hiking boots give you 3 lbs.I called Excellus ahead of time and asked about coverage.As long as there is a medical necesity,HTN.Diabetes etc.Should not be a problem.I had my first visit with the doc in Dec.and i've been approved for the surgery as of last Monday.Good Luck

My Doctor found that I have a small hiatal hernia and he said that he will repair it when he does the band.I've had reflux since my gallbladder came out but I knew nothing about the hernia til I had a barium swallow.

Hi Diana Dr.Desimone does it out of Community Hospital.He's just now starting the Lap Bands this month.He's done many RNY surgeries,so personally i'm not really worried.I will probably be one of his top 10 but at least not his first.I hoped that helped with your question.Have a good day.

I've always liked the show,but I don't care for the couples this time around.I enjoyed last season a lot when Gillian came back with her Black team.Loved it.

I too am addicted to Diet Pepsi.My Doc told me it will be some time,but he's figuring maybe aroung 6 months.My other thought is to let the soda go flat.I gave up diet soda when i was pregnant for my kids I guess I can do it again but this time it's for me.

Hi Tammy, I live in Liverpool and I'm going to have the Lap Band done at Community Hospital.I have all my pre tests done and I'm waiting to see the Doc again on 2/5 I was suppose to see him 1/22 but they cancelled.I was totally bummed and I'm very anxious to get this done.Talk to ya soon.. Donna

Hello.I'm from Liverpool NY I have all my pre op tests done.I'm just waiting to see my Doc again.I was suppose to see him Tues.But the appt.had to be changed cause of him.Now I don't see him til Feb.5th.I am so anxious to get a date.I've been waiting to see him to get everything sent in to insurance. I'm just getting started with getting the band.I've got my appointment to see the Doc on Dec.18th.My question is does anyone have a list of where to buy protein shakes or can recommend some good tasting ones? I think I am more scared about the liquid diet part of the Band then anything.My family is very supportive with my decision.I hope someone out there can clue me in on things to drink. Thanks:help:

I'm glad someone put something out there about popcorn.My kids and I both love popcorn and I think I would miss this snack most of all.It's good to know that I can have it again eventually.

This list is a great idea.I think all doctors should have a list like this to give to their patients.

I just got the brochure for the lap band yesterday.I'm reading it and it seems like you really have to watch what you eat closely.Are you allowed to have diet soda witht this band?I love steak what do you guys do about that?what about popcorn once in a while for a snack?Ever since I got the brochure I am more and more confused on whether to have this surgery done or not.I've read a lot on this site and everyone talks about food getting stuck,that scares me.I'm planning to go to a seminar 9/10 i'm hoping that helps.I understand I have to Change my eating habits but this seems so drastic especially if you want a treat onc in a while.

I just started looking into this surgery,and i'm very interested and trying to get as much information as possible,or at least some feed back from people who have had this surgery of lap banding.I'm a nurse who works on a floor with bariatric pt.s and seen the bypass done and a few return because of nutrition risks.I lost wt.97lbs.by doing low carb but have gained back 50lbs.I "don't" want to be that person again and it scares me.I have started to talk to a surgeon I know well who would do the surgery,but of course i'm still a little on edge about it.I hope someone can help with some more advice about this surgery,I would appreciate it.
