I just received my surgery date call and its less that 2 weeks away! A little late notice jeez but I promise I'm not complaining so I guess I better start my liquid diet tomorrow. They literally told me nothing but I'm going to start tomorrow just in case. If any one has any suggestions or helpful hints on anything with the liquid diet or what to bring to the hospital besides the obvious, it would be appreciated.

What is your pre-op diet right now. And congrats!!! I'm excited too!!

I just received the call this morning after waiting 3 long weeks that my insurance approved my surgery! Now I'm waiting for the nurse to call to start my preop and schedule my surgery date. It seems like such a long process... I'm ready now!! Back to my skinny self again!!! Can't wait!

I'm not sure yet on my date. I'm still waiting on that call now. Geez... I hope its not that long!

Dr. Valentine is doing my surgery. I wasn't doing very good on my diet either. I went up and down. But the last weigh in I was less than I started which is a good thing to show the insurance. For me I have to drink lots of water and stay away from sugar or any kind of carbs. Otherwise I won't lose anything. Good luck!!! You're almost done!!! Its so exciting once you're approved!

I recently just found out from my doctors office that if at anytime during the 6 month pre surgery program you gain even a pound.. Medicaid and many other insurances will deny your surgery!?!? Can anyone confirm or deny this. I'm very shocked. Not only does my thyroid keep me at the same weight but for the last 4 months I went in I was on my first day of my period! What women doesn't bloat on her period? Even when I was skinny I would gain and bloat on my period. Does the insurance companies really not get this?? Anyone have any additional information or currently have Medicaid as their insurance?

I'm praying really hard because I'm 2 pounds over and my last appointment is Tuesday. So I'm literally on a all liquid diet until then. Thank you for your reply

Wow! Congratulations! That's awesome. I hope I'm being just paranoid and get approved. I just didn't know if I should postpone my 6th appointment for next week when I know I won't be bloated or on my monthly haha. I heard Medicaid is ridiculous sometimes. You must be so excited! Good luck to you

Hello my doctor is going to send for my approval through MediCaid for my sleeve. I have hypothyroidism and have not lost any weight in the 6 months pre surgery program. I have yoyo'ed up and down and now for my final appointment on Thursday I'm up 5 pounds! Will they not approve me? I have done the program to the T! So its frustrating. Plus I started my monthly today so I'm bloated and icky. Any advice or help is appreciated!

I use a generic brand of Synthroid 37mg I think. I was on a higher dose and was losing weight but they said my levels were too high. So my doctor refuses to change my prescription. I haven't had my levels checked since last October probably. Its beyond frustrating.
