  1. Hey, worrying is normal. I was supposed to have my op last week and got as far as having general anaesthetic but when I woke up there had been a power cut so I'm rescheduled for 1st April. Anyway I just wanted to say I felt the same and still do but like others have said it's normal to worry but will be the best thing we ever do. Good luck and keep us posted. X
  2. Thanks wallflower7522. Yes I buy it from vaping shops & websites and have some lower level liquids as I was planning on slightly reducing my intake anyway. So I've already put a lower nicotine liquid in tonight & plan to get an even lower liquid tomorrow. I was a very heavy smoker (30-60 a day) and was really pleased with myself for stopping and starting vaping but I didn't realise what I now know about nicotine. I loved smoking and switched due to health reasons and this operation. Despite still getting nicotine from vaping I also still want a ciggy sometimes & so feel happy that at least I'm not smoking real cigs loaded with tar and chemicals. Your right it's a very hard habit/addiction to stop. Regardless of still vaping I am most certainly healthier than when I was smoking the real cigs. That has to be a good thing. Thanks for your advice and I will cut down and talk to my surgeon before my op.

Intractable and severe Pain in the Feet ?

Hi, are you diabetic? It could be neuropathy (nerve damage) which I have also in my feet. What meds has your GP prescribed? Has your GP mentioned the possibility of it being neuropathy? High sugar levels over a long period of time can cause this. Try not to panic until you get your results.
  4. Thanks for all your comments, I am going to try and quit or at least vape less until after my operation and will defiantly let my surgeon know. Like you Seela, I don't drink, take drugs, drink caffeine or binge eat anymore so if possible after my surgery I want to allow myself to vape. Maybe tackle my nicotine addiction further down the line.

    family problems

Hi, nice to meet you. I would agree with the other comments on here. Your brother may feel fearful as he knows you are starting to take steps to be healthier and he may not like this if he doesn't feel he can as well. Do what is right for you, which if your like me is loosing weight and preventing further health problems and an early death. I know for me if I don't have weight loss surgery and loose weight quickly, I will be heading to an early grave as I am diabetic already with a lot of heath issues. I am the only one who can prevent this from happening with the help (tool) of surgery. By you starting this journey may encourage him to help himself and take control of his health. Good luck with your journey and don't let anybody dishearten or put you down. Where abouts are you and everybody who's commented in the UK? Im in Bristol.
  6. Thankyou for your reply, I'm feeling rather worried now about vaping. I will tell my surgeon on Tuesday and hope they still do the surgery and I have no complications!

Okay Ladies - Let's talk skin!

Hello, I have the same concers as you and have asked my medical staff questions around the skin issue. I was told that we are all different and there is not a way of knowing how bad or good your skin will be until it happens. I was told as I am 30 years old that my age is in my favour but doesn't mean my skin wont be left saggy. My dads friend had a gastric bypass around a year ago and he is in his late 50's and has no baggy skin or flap and he was informed that the more olive skin you have the more likely your skin will bounce back, I'm guessing as the skin is naturally more oily. I've decided to go ahead with surgery and dealing with any skin issues further down the line but, I do feel the same and would rather not have to have further surgery. I am however putting on body oil every time I have a shower or bath. I either put baby oil on or Clarins tonic oil and rinse of with cooler Water to close the pores to get the most moisture out of the products. I should think the sooner you start moisturising your skin with oils or even creams the better. Toning exercises should also help I wouldn't worry about it until it or if it happens, and there is always body shaping underwear which I am sure I will end up wearing.

    2 hour to go woohoo

Hi guys, I gave up smoking over 4 months ago but I vape e-cigarettes now. I feel so much healthier, no longer have a constant cough and can taste and smell again. Is it not the tar and chemicals in a cigarette which are really bad for you and can cause problems healing or is it nicotine? E-cigs only have nicotine in no tar or chemicals. I don't think I can do this liquid diet without vaping, I'm struggling enough without being completely nicotine free as well. I'm due to have my operation on 1st April.
  9. thanks Mississippi girl. I believe as well everything happens for a reason but its just been difficult to except.
  10. Thanks butterflypinup, I will for sure stick to it from now on. No more cheating

    Any April 1st sleevers?

Hi Guys, my dates 1st April as well. It was supposed to be last Tuesday but there was a power cut after Id been given general anaesthetic so when I came around I was told they thought it was too high a risk to do the op dispite the back up generators kicking in. They then thought they could do it yesterday but that didn't happen so now its the 1st April. Its nice to know you guys will be having the op on the same day. I'm 30, from Bristol in the UK. fingers crossed all goes well for all of us.
  12. Yes that's what I was told about sugar and carbs. If you still have 9 days left and stick to it you should be ok as I was only asked to do the diet for 7 days. I hope it goes well for both of us. I was told if my liver was not small enough when I was cut open the Dr. would not operate on me. So I'm kind of in your shoes. I've not had anything solid but I've consumed a few slushes. I have heard that is not good because they are full of sugar and sugar keeps the liver large. I've also had regular pudding. Ugh! So I still have 9 days to go and praying by then my liver is plenty small. I'd be honest with my doctor. Good luck!
  13. Hi RJS, that must have been a nightmare although I found the end part of the first week easier. I wish I hadn't of eaten anything but its done now I guess.
  14. Thanks willow and Wendy, I just hope I haven't messed up for this coming Tuesday.

    Im hungry!

Hi Roses1223, looks like were having it on the same day (25th), so exciting. I don't envy you having to cook for others but just try and keep I mind it will all be worth it. I'd try doing what gomekast suggested and maybe just try and keep changing your yoghurt flavours. I've also found the oxo cube with hot Water quite satisfying after just having the yoghurts, maybe having one of those when the kids eat will help?

    Im hungry!

Hi, day 2 was the hardest for me too. I'm now on day 4 and yesterday and today seem to be much easier (boring but easier). They do say the first 3 days are the hardest and it was the same when I tried doing the Lighterlife diet. So keep going and fingers crossed tomorrow will be easier. It's nice to know I'm not alone on this pre op diet as it's tougher than I think most people predict. I'm sure this will all be worth it in the long term. Gem X
