  1. I was told 11 years ago, that I would be better, having chronic fatigue, that having a gastric by-pass would make it better. It certainly does not. The hormone that is in your stomach, as with the duodenum, gets by-passed. So, you have a lot of episodes of shaking and hypo-glycemia. It DOES NOT make your chronic- fatigue better. In fact, it makes it worse!! I am proof positive. Please understand that I'm not saying a by-pass is bad, but if you have chronic fatigue it does NOT make it better. So be aware that you will have to eat. I have gained 35 pounds back. That's not good. I have to find some other way to help balance the hypo-glycemia that is a result of chronic fatigue.

    Run down

I ad my RNY 11 years ago with a revision 9 years ago. I had a gasto-gastric fistula. My stomach and pouch grew a hole and I was feeding my stomach. After the revision I lost 122 pounds and felt great. 3 years ago I started to have knee problems. Already had back problems and arthritis, especially in my feet. The most exercise I get is in a pool or on a Gazelle, (which is like an elliptical but not as intense). I do work part time so I'm not too much of a slug-a-bed. Anyway, the reason for this is since my knee problem started I have felt more and more run down. I have had my thyroid checked a million times as well as B-12 and D. Yes, I forget my vitamins, all too often, but still do B-12 injectables. That is usually fine. D is ALWAYS low. I've started taking Hema-Plex which has iron among others in it. I'm hoping that helps. Anybody else have these problems? I've also gained about 42 pounds back. I don't and CAN'T eat a lot of sugar but I like beer. Even though I don't drink but one or two days a week, people are always telling me it's the beer. Sometimes I feel like I can't win.
  3. Didn't see if anybody else had this, but my RNY literally grew back together. If anybody doesn't lose weight after having RNY have this checked. I went 2 years and thought I was just a 5%er who doesn't lose very much weight. My physician got suspicious and did a endoscopy. The hole between my pouch and stomach was as large around as a quarter! I was feeding the stomach that had been by passed! That was when I had to have the revision. I lost 122 pounds after that.
