  1. I have always had a positive mentality towards how my body looks. Literally if society was more accommodating towards fat people, and great clothes were available in larger sizes I wouldn't mind remaining as fat as I am for the rest of my life. However, since the moment the Dr. gave me my surgery date how I see my body completely changed. I am suddenly very aware of how fat I am, and I became very self conscious. i can't wait to change this body. Overnight it stopped feeling like my body, and more like some buildup that will eventually heal and go back to normal. Did any1 else pass through this? does any1 feel this way now? Thanks
  2. Thanks for sharing I appreciate it Anf congrats on the amazing transformation

    Can you eat chocolate?

I've always been a chocolate lover, but I can tell you, as I'm in the pureed foods stage, you're going to hate chocolate after a while! Pretty much all you can "eat" during this phase is fake chocolate crap. I'm so sick of dessert like foods being my only source of nutrition, I'm never going to want chocolate again! I can hardly wait until I can eat actual meat and savory foods!Don't worry, you'll get burned out on chocolate soon enough. Or maybe not! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App I would like that! What's fake chocolate crap are you eating now?
  4. Thank you for sharing, you have no idea how much I relate to you. I was never really think so I don't know how I look like, but I remember liking how I looked about 100 Lbs ago. I dipped into size 14 and spiked back up again. Let's wait and see! Something else that is new, and probably related to the above, There are emotions coming out I don't know from where. For example I keep telling people off about things that bother me, the same things I use to not address before...Did you experience something similar?
  5. Thank you! you made me feel so much better. This is exactly how I feel like some sort of blindness has been removed, and the same thing about going out...I have barely gone out this month at all! I keep thinking I don't want any1 to see how hideous I look. Thanks again
  6. It was recommended to me bec it has almost no sugar, has any of you tried it? it says on the package that it has genetically modified soy, so I got worried.

    Strained Green/fruit juices

That's a shame, my fruit smoothies had an amazing effect on my skin, hair and overall health. They use to help me get rid of colds without medication. It's a real shame that I have to cut them out of my life.
  10. I finally have my surgery date and it is unique 29/2 leap day a day of possibilities. Anyways, a friend told me that he passed out when he ate sugar 3 months after his surgery. and that he can't eat sugar at all. Is this common? my Dr. didn't mention this to me.

  12. hi all Sorry to be asking this question but I spend upwards of 10 hours a day with very limited access to a toilet. And I am wondering if this is going to be a problem for me. How often do you go to the bathroom after the Mini Gastric Bypass? And is it an inconvenience? Do you have to go the moment you eat? Thank you, and sorry
  13. I think it is shorter, I am not 100% sure. But what I know is that absorption of food is higher with MGB. Will check the group thanks

  18. I was originally scheduled to do a sleeve, but then blood tests kept getting worse, with no reason...and after spending a month and a half testing every inch of my body, nothing came up, so as an alternative we will do a lapband. Thankfully my Dr. approved my date 1 week form today, leaving me little time to do all my research. I know everyone is different, and I noticed that the general rate of weight loss is slow...but please share your numbers with me, I am hoping to get a mental average for different sex and age groups I chose 4 weeks because I am going on a safari and would love to look good or better for the pictures Please feel free to share any advice you have ) Thank youuu

  20. Can you tell me more about the Fluid buildup?
  21. @@JustWatchMe Thank you , your reply was very informative. I have a question though, why do most people gain weight after the operation?
  22. My doctor didnt even require a preop diet...and when I asked here a few others had a similar experience...just begin a liquid diet anyway to be on the safe side ... maybe have an egg or Protein for Breakfast it helps ensure your alertness throughout the day.
  23. I thought the usual duration of staying in the hospital is one to two days; but my doctor just told me a minimum of three days and up to five.

    Panicked, No Weight Loss

Your lucky, my weight didn't budge not 1 pound since I started my pre-op diet, no reason I just didn't loose. have no idea why FYI I am guessing your diet did what its suppose to "shrink your liver" ) so don't worry
  25. My uric acid level are a bit high, I learned that this might be a problem as my uric acid may increase even more after the operation. Has any1 had an elevated uric acid level before the operation? what happened after the operation?
