I enjoyed a few beers durning an overnight scrapbooking trip with my friends. A week later my esophogus and pouch were dialated. The doc said it was because of the carbonation. Mind you they were Miller 64s and I took about a half hour to drink each one! But they still cause a major problem. And I am well over a year out! Patti

Hi, I went for a fill on Wednesday, and during the fill (under flouro) the Dr said that my esophogus was stretched. He still gave me a small 0.5 cc fill, and told me to take it easy for a few days. Today is friday, and I have moved on to mushy foods. The problem is that I can eat like 3 or 4 bites and I am feeling like I'm going to hurl. Yesterday it was on yogurt, today mashed potatoes. Has anyone eber had or heard of a stretched esophogus? Oh and when I got a fill in May, it was fine. thanks, Patti

I got a fill yesterday, and was told 24 hrs liquids, and then 2 days mushy and then regular food. during my fill the Dr noticed that my esophogus was stretched, and this morning i burped up my protien shake! Guess I will be doing liquids today as well! Patti -

I have the same problem, but mine is all morning. My doc says it is because I am dehydrated in the morning. I recently had twins and have to stop drinking at 7 pm or I'm awake all night going. So I have to get some warm liquids in me in the morning and a Protein shake then about 10:30 - 11 I can eat food. Patti -
when will my hair stop falling out?????
patticNJ replied to patticNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jodi, Thanks, I think my last fill is giving up a little. I can actually eat now. I am able to get some more food in me. I am still very tight in the morning, but my Dr said that sometimes it is from not drinking all night. I can usually eat around 11, but then i try to eat my lunch or a snack. I have a nice fruity shake for breakfast, with Protein milk and fruit, it equals about 350 calories and 35 g protein. then for lunch i have chili, or tuna or chicken, with some crackers and tomatoe. for dinner it is whatever i make the family minus the rice, Pasta or potatoes. So last night it was 4 slices of London Broil with some corn. I've never been one to journal my food, otherwise WW would have worked for me LOL. ok gotta check the crying baby. thanks, Patti -
when will my hair stop falling out?????
patticNJ replied to patticNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all of the advice. I pretty much only eat protein. and i do my shakes. my thyroid leves are ok, had them checked about a month ago. I am still trying to figure out how Jodi gets all that food in. Wow, i have a hard time getting in a half of chicken breast and for get anyfood before noon. well, i will continue to search for something to stop the madness of the hair loss. i think i will add biotin to the multi vitamin, which i will also change out to a chewable. thanks all. when will my hair stop falling out?????

Ok i posted this same question on another part of this board, but maybe i'll get a better response here. I am 7 months out and have lost about 40 pounds. I am stalled right now in the losing game, and the only thing I am losing is excessive amounts of HAIR! I don't mean a few strands here and there I mean clumps of my hair every day are falling out. Thanks to God for giving me a thick mane to begin with so it isn't so noticable. Anyway, I do get all of my protien in, as that is pretty much all i eat. I am not totally sure what else could be causing th problem. Is there a time frame as to when this will settle down or should i go wig shopping soon? thanks, Patti -
I'm sorry that I do not post much. With working full time, and the twins & Joey, I rarely have time for the computer, but I do stop by an read your posts often during lunch breaks. I am now 7 months out and I am down a little over 40 pounds and holding. I have had 2 fills, but I had been barfing a lot, so no more fills for me until I learn to eat properly. I tend to eat too fast and not chew properly. If you have dinner with my family you would know why. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on my shedding problem. My hair is getting so thin, I may have to purchase a wig soon, and it is totally not funny. I used to only get a hair tie around 2 times, now it goes around at least 4 maybe 5. I'm starting to get nervous. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patti

hi all, been a long time. well, this post caught my eye right away! i thought i was the only one who broke the rules!!! My drink of choice is Crystal Lite Lemonade with vodka (Raspberry, Green Apple, Watermelon, or Strawberry). I usually have 3-4 a week mostly on the weekends while hanging by the pool. Now that the summer is over, I'm sure that will die down. We also put our Margarita machine to it's full use this summer during a few parties. Yummy Mango and tequila.

Hey all, As of June 5th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost 39 pounds. I have had 1 fill. Not sure how much, but I know it isn't nearly enough!!! -
Now this is an interesting topic. I do not feel my port during sex, but when I am leaning over the crib trying to get the babies back to sleep, I feel it and boy does it hurt like heck. Sometimes, it just hurts if I twist the wrong way to much. I must say that DH and I are finding that SEX is much more better since banding and 38 lbs are gone, can't wait for another 40 to go away wow. Patti

That is so weird because I just popped on here to post the same thing about my hair. It is falling out in clumps. I thought it was my thyroid at first, but all fo my blood work came back normal. The nurse practitioner at he surgeons office told me it was because of the rapid weight loss. I was like there is nothing rapid about my weight loss . She said it was the changes in my body, similar to after you have a baby, i did lose a lot of hair after the twins were born. It did come back, but I'm talking in the month after, not 4 months after. I'm only 3 pounds away from a new do, so hopefully I will still have some hair left to get it done!!!! I'm glad I'm not going through this alone!!! Patti
