    Long term slow loser results?

I sure hope your right, but I've heard many drs use the term too so I can't help thinking it's real.

    Long term slow loser results?

Yeah I think it's definetly something that needs to be discussed, I just hope some people have some input on it!

You know you lost weight when

While out on my walk during break time i caught sight of my reflection next to my friend (who is probably about 120ish) and i didn't want to crawl in a hole and die. In fact i felt quite proud. Also... i now weigh LESS than my husband!!! First time in my life I weigh less than the guy I'm with. Still very very far to go, and am a chronic slow loser, but I'm enjoying every little NSV!!
  5. Oops, that was suppose to be 28 not 2 with a smile lol
  6. Don't get me wrong, I'm very very greatful for all the weight I've lost. Any amount is good... BUT for my starting surgery weight (347) and age (28) I'm considered a slow loser (doesn't help I stalled for 1.5 months). Losing 58 pounds in 6 months seems a little low for those stats. And I never had the rapid weight loss of a honeymoon period that I hear so much about. I've had to work hard for every pound. I think the reason I freak over this the most is because my surgeon was disappointed in my weight loss at my last appointment. Hard not to feel like a slow loser when the experts think u are.
  7. That would be nice. I hope your right!
  8. My biggest fear is the "honeymoon" period. If its THIS time of my weight loss that I'm supposed to be losing fast (and I'm this slow) then how slow will it be when its suppose to slow down ??
  9. I'm a slow loser as well. 6 months out and have lost 58 lbs since surgwry. It's so frustrating to see people at my starting weight or lower who have lost nearly a hundred pounds. It's very discouraging. My mom said something to me that put things into perspective for me tho. Would I have lost this much presurgery? The answer is definitely not and I keep trying to remind myself of that. Of course it's hard when I keep thinking I won't make goal and will disappoint everyone (mainly surgeon who was upset with my numbers last month)

    Ugh!

Well I unfortunately have kept it. I can get really bad attacks that feel like contractions.but don't worry, it's rare. If it lasts for more than a month id tell ur surgeon tho.

    Converting from Sleeve to Bypass?

Yeah I've resorted to slider foods too. I feel like so much of a failure for it. How far out were u before the docs decided revision was best? How much have u lost? I'm on double dose omeprezole, ranitidine, carafate and nitroglycerin. Good luck with ur insurance!

    Converting from Sleeve to Bypass?

Zunbapink..... I feel for ya, I have a tough time exercising too. I have an immune deficiency and get sick alot. Between that and being in pain every time I eat, exercising is the last thing on my mind. I struggle with eating and have resorted to the bad habit of grazing just to get ANY food in. My surgeon got upset with me when I told him that tho. But seriously, does HE exercise when he has the flu? I hope your revision goes well. Please keep in touch, I havnt had one but I think it's heading it that direction

    Converting from Sleeve to Bypass?

Thanks for the reply mickally. Wow and I thought my 40 mg was bad lol. Ice to know I could still go up on it tho. My spasms are much better, think that was brought on by the vomiting for the tummy flu. Still got gastritis and it's now turning into reflux. Woke up last night with pain and spent 4 hrs regurgitating my dinner. Not cool
  15. I have laringitis, my voice goes in and out but for the most part... it's gone. I've tried tea, honey, cough drops etc... My brother suggested a hot tautie, but I told him that was a big no no for the sleeve (I'm not too hot on drinking anyways). Got any ideas for treatment that are sleeve freindly?

    Laringitis treatment

Yeah I'm almost positive its from post nasal drip. Have had a sinusitis and a cough for a week. I've never had laringitis before so this is new territory for me. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them

    Shrinking sleeve?

I eat the same portion size consistently but every day feels different. Sometimes I can only eat half, Some days I want more (want but don't give in) and some days it's JUST right. Lol its like my tummy is goldilocks

    Shrinking sleeve?

I'm so glad you asked this question. I've had the same issues and I was thinking it was all in my head! Lol

    Converting from Sleeve to Bypass?

Hi artsong, thanks for replying. How long were you sleeved before they converted u to rny? Have you noticed an improvement? How has your weight loss been compared to the sleeve?
  20. Vsgann- yes that would be nice. If I don't get any answers I'll suggest it to one of them. Probably my immunologist because he's all about working with other docs. Drmeow- that's a very good point. I'm starting a new treatment soon so I'll make an appointment and try to pick his brain.
  21. I have an immune deficiency that was discovered because my Protein lvl (presurgery) was consistently low. It turns out that immunoglobulins are just Proteins...And since mine were severely deficient, it showed up in a normal blood test. Despite many treatments, my lvl stayed low. After surgery and losing about 50lbs my immunoglobulin level rose significantly. I also noticed that I would always lose my weight right after an infusion (big boost of immunoglobulins (protein). For some odd reason, my immunoglobulin levels have plummeted again (back to presurgery levels). And with it, my weight loss has completely stalled. I've tried eating less, eating more, getting active but nothing is helping. I know that my particular situation is extreamly rare, however I also know that with weight loss surgery people can get protein deficieny. So I'm curious, for those of you who have dealt with protein deficiency, did you notice a stall with your weight loss during this time? Did things pick back up once the deficiency was corrected?
  22. Thanks proudgrammy..... my drs seem to be clueless. My surgeon has no idea about my immune system issues and my immunologist doesn't know the weightloss surgery stuff. Admittedly I havnt asked him about this issue so I will try when I see him next. I was hoping someone here had experience with it too. Looks like not.
