snowkitten replied to Zane's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little confused. .. isn't throwing up advised against since it can stretch the sleeve? -
Sleevers over 300lbs?
snowkitten replied to dstined4gr8tnes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love this thread, it helps alot. I'm getting the sleeve on Aug 25th and have been having a lot of second guessing. I know the sleeve is the right choice for ME but I can't help being afraid I won't lose like I want. Knowing others have succeeded with it helps alot. Thank you all for sharing. -

Anyone Else Nesting Before Surgery?

YES!! I'm doing the the exact same thing. There are so many things I keep thinking I should get done. At least it's burning calories -
not losing very fast
snowkitten replied to jtickle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Remember too that muscle weighs more than fat. If your working out 6 days a week it's a good chance your losing fat and gaining muscle but it's evening out so it looks like your losing less. Just trust the inches lost. Sounds like your doing great. -
Aug 25th here. Start my Pre-Op on the 9th.

I get this quite a bit, no idea why tho. Eating more often (every 4 hrs) and eating a Protein help. Try to avoid something g sugary, that actually makes it worse

Ask your doctor for a toradol shot. It's an anti inflammatory but because it's not being digested by the stomach you can have it. Also, lidocaine Patches

Got my date! (Aaaaand, now I'm having 2nd thoughts)
snowkitten replied to Capegin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've had the same thoughts. I think it's stemming from fear of failure tho. -
Just an idea, maybe make a juicy steak up then chew/suck out all the juices and spit out the meat. It might help

Goal weight vs happy weight
snowkitten replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon told me that I can expect to lose 50% of my excess weight. This would make the surgery a "success". So he's expecting me to get down to 230lbs. My personal goal is 160-180 For you, a healthy bmi would put you between 140-180. So let's say 160 is normal for your height. That means you are 155 lbs overweight. With this surgery you can expect to lose 77.5 lbs putting you at about 237.5 lbs. At this weight your surgery would be considered a success. Of course some people lose more some less. It all depends on how you work your tool. -
Question for the women
snowkitten replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, I was wondering the exact same thing !!! -
Does anyone know of a good app (for android) or a website that tracks body measurements (ie, left and right extremity, waist, hips, etc.)
-
Ugh I know right! I've always had a hard time measuring my hips. Waist too cause I actually have one. I want to measure tummy since it's biggest part. Thanks for the idea, does it have left/right extremity??

I have my surgery date set (Aug 25th) so my journey will begin soon, but as i look at everyones weight loss success i cant help being mad at myself for getting to this size. I hovered around 270's for YEARS. I thought that was huge and then in the last 2 years i shot up to 360. I cant believe i let myself gain that much, I always thought it would be impossible to lose 100+lbs so i got fed up with dieting and feeling guilty for every bite i took and let myself indulge. 5lbs turned into 10lbs which quickly turned into 100lbs! Now i have 200+ lbs to lose and id give anything to only have to lose 100lbs!! I am so mad at myself for that. Sorry for the rant, but i had to get that off my chest. Now hopefully I can forgive myself and move on.

You all are very right. Thank you for all the positive thoughts and encouragement. I will make the most of my new lease on life.
