    AUGUST 25TH HERE!

Ah yes, a million sit ups is a good description while not moving but when I cough, walk or reposition it feels like someone James a baseball bat in my tummy. How is your o2 doing? I keep holding my breath cause of the pain and it ends up plummeting to 80's.

Thanks, I have an awesome nurse now who makes me feel comfortable and cared for. Unfortunately I will get one of the bad nurses again tonight. I'm hoping to sleep through the majority of it. On the bright side I go home tomorrow!! Yay

I hope so too!! I've only been able to walk once. WAY too much pain. Thanks, when is your time??
  12. Yeah I think your right. I'm guessing my throat was so raspy from the breathing tube that they couldn't understand me. I guess I just had a higher expectation thinking since they do it for a living that they would be better at it. Thanks for the suggestion but my husband had to be at home with our 2 y/o so he couldnt help much. Oh well, soon I'll be home. Thanks for the congrats! I'm so happy it's finally done
  13. Oh I did grin and bear it. It's just that right out of surgery and in so much pain I was extremely sensitive. I'm not the type to try and get someone in trouble (unless they did something that could harm others if I didn't speak up) but I really needed to vent to people who would understand. A new shift nurse is on and shes really great. They must put all the nurses who aren't good on at night lol. Thanks for listening!

    AUGUST 25TH HERE!

How r u all doing? Pain? My tummy hurts alot. Feels like someone hit me hard right in the pit of my stomach with a baseball bat. And my throat is dry and hurts but the pain in my back is gone and I have no gas pain (knock on wood).

Wow I can't believe the day is finally here!!! Waiting to be brought back now
  19. So I've heard a lot of people advising that as soon as you wake up from surgery you need to walk walk walk. I think that's great advice and fully plan on doing just that because i really really want to succeed. BUT I kinda have an obsessive personality (with goals and projects) and in the past I've been known to do TOO much. This is where i always fail because i over do it, injure myself and have to stop. So, how much is too little and how much is too much (how long & how often did you walk)? I really want to succeed at this so i need some guidelines. I know everyone is different so obviously someone with chronic injuries cant do as much as another person without them, i just would like to know in general what others have done and their experience. Im 28, and except for asthma, knee pain, and a tendency to get sick alot, i have no troubles with walking. I can walk as much as my little obese body will allow, so whats smart after a major surgery?

Yay that's exciting!! 4 pounds even when water weight is awesome. That's about a bag of sugar you no longer have to carry arround!
  24. Great question. I also take a water pill for pitting edema. My surgeon hasn't said anything about me not taking it tho. I sure hope he doesn't too cause even with the pill I'm swollen . Without it I feel like a balloon. I hope you get to take it, I know how miserable it can be without it.
