Hello - Just signed up on day one of my pre op diet. I am doing this on my own so I need lots of support from the forum. My surgery is March 19th 2014 by Dr Jaime Ponce de Leon in Tijuana. I can't find a bad thing written about him on the web, so am confident in the surgery, a little unconfident in myself due to the many failures at weight loss prior to this. I am at my heaviest weight ever, and am so looking forward to being healthy. I have only told one family member about the upcoming surgery, no one else knows. I know they will be upset when they find out. I think I am afraid they won't support me. Such a stigma that this is an easy way out, but the more I learn about it, it is anything but an easy way out. I am also feeling a sense of urgency to lose the weight due to health reasons. I have had one knee replacement and am looking at another. I also know that diabetes looms in my future if I stay this way. I also do not want another 'fat summer' - hiding at home and not engaging in activities because of my weight. I have 4 grandkids to keep up with and want to be a participant not an observer.
Thanks for reading and thanks for the anticipated support.
