Did Anyone Use Pedro Kuri In Tj, Mx?
mommy3boys replied to FATBGONE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery with him 1/25/03 in the old hospital. I haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood) and when back to him 3 times for fills. I found a dr closer by for fills (dr. mckeen) but do plan to go back later this year for a scope just to make sure everything is ok. He was great and I would recommend him to anyone that wanted to have this surgery done. Ana 242/170/150 -
Every morning...it's the only way I see that a small fluctuation is ok here and there and instead i look at the whole week as a trend. I don't want to be where i step on the scale 3 months later and have gained 20 lbs (its happened before). ana 242/170/150

Good luck with your surgery...I know you will look smokin HOT... I too dream of a tummy tuck/breast lift...just 20 more lbs and I'm there. Ana

I can't believe I'm going to say this...
mommy3boys replied to roiansmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had my band 4 years this month and I'm still learning what works and what doesn't. I go through periods of time when I eat something which causes bad PB's and irritation, then I immediately want to get an unfill. I have learned that if I go to hot tea and Soups for 2 days I am as good as new and can start eating small meals again with no problems. I can only have liquids in the mornings but this works for me. Let your stomach heal and get a slight unfill, it will make such a huge difference when you feel better. Good Luck. Ana -
I'm considering Dr. Kuri. Thoughts????
mommy3boys replied to want2losew8's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Banded by Dr. Kuri in 2003. He was great. I went back to him for 3 more fills then found a Dr closer to me. But i'm thinking of going back to him for a slight unfill and and endescope to check things out. Just in case. Ana 242/175/150 -
Dani, I am so going to copy your salad recipe, it sounds great. I love salads now. I taste buds have changed so much in the last 3 years. I love seafood too. Ana

A Lapbanster's Christmas Confessions
mommy3boys replied to flabuless's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
3 lbs here...at any other time in my life it probably would have been 15 lbs. i'm still hoping to start 2007 25 lbs less than when i started 2006. That makes me feel much better. Ana -
I love salads now and it is one of the few things i know will not give me a problem...I have my salads with a little seafood salad or artichoke chicken salad with 1000 island dressing. Not the best but compared with the crap I ate preband not too bad. That and the walking has helped me go from 197 to 175 in the last 3 months and i was banded in 2003. Ana

Need a buddy for YOU On a Diet by Dr. Roizen and Oz
mommy3boys replied to S@ssen@ch's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'll be your buddy:) I'll get the book, cause I love that man. I have dvr all his shows on Oprah and have dvr'd his You on a Diet program he did. I was going to get a pedameter after I watched his show about walking 10,000 steps to matter what. I got my band in 2003 and am down to 170 and stalling. I started walking in sept but had to stop because too cold/lazy, but I went from a 16-14/13 in 2 months just from walking alone. Let me know. Ana -
Realizing the 30 more lbs would put me at 300 and I had 2 small boys. Got band when my baby was 6 months old and I weighed 242. Today I'm at 170 and single with 3 small boys and thank the Lord above that I did it for me and my future. Ana

I could not agree with you more, this band is a fickle b*tch. I got a fill in January and lost maybe 5 lbs. I was super tight and had horrid acid reflux at night. Then I decided to get an unfil just so I could sleep. Well I finally got my head screwed on right and followed the rules a little better and low and behold I lost 5 more lbs. and the acid reflux went away. I then increased my speed walking to daily in the am (no excuses) and have lost an additional 15 lbs. I was for sure it was my band "not working" but realised it was just me "not working" my band. I have had my band almost 4 yrs and I think in 2004/2005 I only lost 20 lbs total. Patience...hurry up:) Ana

mommy3boys replied to Telly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

A thread for Single Bandsters
mommy3boys replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Been single for 2.5 years after 11 year marriage and dating is hard. Finally have had a couple of dates with a nice man who thinks i'm the sh*ts and it feels great. I have developed new friendships with other single/divorced women and feel that has helped me the most. Love my married friends and really love my single life now...i'm alone not lonely. Life is good so far. But dating is very intimidating. I've decided I'm just goind to enjoy the ride no matter where it takes me. I've experienced extreme sadness and loneliness being with someone who no longer caried for me and never wish for that again. Good luck. ana -
Who has had the band for a long time?
mommy3boys replied to phenry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1/25/07 will be 4 years. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Although it wasn't a magic pill and weight loss has been slow, i am very greatful for where I am right now. Only problem has been too much of a fill, had a slight unfill. I'm only 27 lbs away from goal weight and walk 45 everyday. I've decided to get ps next year even if I don't get to goal. Feel great about myself. ana -
Social side effects for being thinner...
mommy3boys replied to Malice X Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
newly divorced here and believe me dating sucks no matter if you're young or old. i think it is harder when you have baggage and I own a full luggage set:) breaking up is never easy but stringing a guy/gal along just so you're not along is not cool. before you know it you're married and miserable. anyway enough of my venting. good luck. ana -
I'm in the same boat. 27 from goal and i've had my band for almost 4 yrs. Exercise is the way to go from here on. We can do it. ana 242/177/150 then TT/BL

I would go with vanity, self esteem issues. I had just had my 2nd son and was huge and didn't see how I was going to have the energy to take care of my kids. I also didn't want them to be embarrassed of their mom when they started school. Fast forward 3.5 years and can honestly say vanity. I'm single now and boy i'm so glad I did this. I look and feel so much better about myself and have so much energy to take care of my boys. Ana Good question.

Old bandsters and slow losers.
mommy3boys replied to bobby_hamrick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi cousin, i'm also a slow "loser". I will be 4 years in January and started walking 3 weeks ago and have lost 7 lbs. I was up to 197 in january when i got my last fill, now i'm at 178 as of this morning. I have reached my last level of restriction anything more and i can't even drink Water so I finally realized that unless I exercised I wasn't going to lose an once. My goal is 30 more lbs and I can "treat" myself to a TT and BL. I will probably never be a size 3 but at 270-242 size 22 I would have been thrilled at a size 14. Well i'm there now so now all i'm doing is fine tuning. Good luck. ana -
I understand what you are going thru and can simpathize. I too am in the final stages of my 11.5 year marriage. My ex had an affair then blamed me for everything wrong in our marriage. Now I see things much more clearly and time has been a great healer. My youngest was 6 months when I filed for divorce and have never regretted my decision. Good luck and just remember to pray alot for strength and take it just one day at a time. Time heals all wounds. Ana

My head is spinning :-) (kind long)
mommy3boys replied to Kittski's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
congratulations and good luck Alicia, I live close to Modesto (howdy neighbor), meds are only a problem if the tablets are big and you have to take them in the morning, you might have to ask for liquid or if they can be broken up. i have problems taking my multi Vitamin, so i cut in half and have it with hot tea. after 11 am i'm less restricted and pills are no problem. ana dr kuri 1/03 270/180/150
