I had lapband surgery Nov 2007. Pre surgery 320, got down to 179 and stayed for several years.

Starting in 2010, I was only able to tolerate the "slider foods" and the scale started going up. I didn't go see the dr because I thought there was no possible way I could tolerate having the band tightened anymore - figured I'd throw up everything! I had no energy, and just didn't like myself but didn't know what was going on.

Long story short, late 2013 discovered I have mild Crohn's disease. Had an endoscopy to find out why I was throwing up blood - they found 6 ulcers in my esophagus and said I had reflux. I didn't believe them - I had not had heartburn in 7 years and didn't take an acid blocker!

I decided to go see my Lapband dr and gave him all the medical reports, etc. He immediately said the band has to come out! He took all the liquid out of my band, talked with my gastroentologist and submitted papers to insurance. Was approved really quick! Ironically, after the fluid was removed I started throwing up cupfuls of bile acid and sick every day.

I had my band removed and had the gastric sleeve performed on March 20, 2014 at the Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas.
