Hello there. I start my 2 week presurgery diet on June 16th and I am not looking forward to it at all. It will be my most stressful time of the school year with final exams for about 120 students and grading them and getting final grades in for the year. My surgeon said to drink 3 shakes daily and have 1 low carb high protein meal daily. I can also have sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles in between. I am looking forward to starting it so I can finally get my lap band surgery but it's going to be hard giving up real food for a while. I think I will feel lost and not know what to do with myself. It seems like everything revolves around food. I get fast food 2x weekly and go out to eat once weekly. This all needs to stop and is going to be hard buy I have to do it. My 6 yr. old daughter and 8 yr. old son have weight issues already because of my poor choice of diet. So I hope this helps all of us in the end. Good luck to all who are doing the presurgery fast and finally changing our lives for the better.

Surgery tomorrow... Am I ready?
Georgeann806 replied to msshellg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completely understand how you are feeling. I am scheduled to have Lap band surgery on May 22nd and keep thinking the same thoughts. My older sister had Gastric Bypass surgery 3 years ago and lost 200 pounds quickly and is starting to put it back on. I don't know what the answer is, but I am going through with mine and I hope you do the same thing. The best you can do is pray for a quick recovery and ask the Lord for strength and guidance throughout this journey. It is a different learning experience for all of us. You made it this far, so why put it off? I wish you the best of luck and a quick recovery. -
What foods can you eat post op?

I am a high school teacher and am scheduled to be banded on Thurs. May 22nd. I will have off until the next Tuesday and will resume work on Tuesday. I am so nervous that I won't pack the correct liquids to bring to work. What will I be able to consume? I do not get out of school until June 26th. My husband feels that I should change my surgery date for July so I can be home and it would be more convenient, but I will lose a month to lose weight and be on a good schedule. What do you all think who have been banded? Can I still manage my May surgery? -
