jesabuck30 replied to tammie30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had RNY 4/8 and had both my toes and nails done before my surgery with approval from my nurse during my pre op physical... I even have acrylic nails and all went fine -
incision pain 7 weeks out
jesabuck30 replied to SparkleCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a long time to have redness.... I had sutures poking out up to 2 wks and I read to tug them and see if they would come out and if they didn't to pull them tight and cut them close to skin so that's what I did! I told the PA and she said that was exactly what she would have done! -

I had RNY 4/8 and got my period the morning of, the have me so much heparin my flow was so heavy, I had an IV in one hand an oxygen thing on the other hand, it was a mess trying to keep myself clean.... I had a private room first day so I dealt with the hat I had to pee in every time so the nurses could see my outputs but they never changed it and it was so bloody but when I got moved to a room with a roommate, what a nightmare, we both had to pee in hats and no one ever changed them..... It was such a bad experience at a hospital that was supposed to be good -

Not big enough for WLS?
jesabuck30 replied to I will what I want's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 5'5 and my weight on Feb 4 2014 at first appt at WLS center was 263 with a BMI of 43. I went on the table at 255 April 8 2014! I heard from anyone who I told that I wasn't that big and what kind of surgeon would allow you to have RYGB? I simply told them I was 110+ lbs over weight and classified as morbidly obese and therefore I would be a fool to pass up on such a valuable tool that I was able to receive! Today I will be 8 wks on Tuesday and have lost a total of 48 lbs so far and all the haters that bad mouthed what I was doing are now my biggest fans, go figure! -

medical bracelets for Sleevers?
jesabuck30 replied to skinnygirlwithin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually an Ng tube isn't something that is placed in an emergency situation such as if you are unconscious, and when placed they measure from your physical external dimensions so not to place too much tube... It's a procedure that is not done with a scope! -
Calcium Citrate: What do you use?
jesabuck30 replied to bloreorbust's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Need to be mindful of all chews as they contain calories and carbs, my nut told me to steer clear of the delicious ones as we have to take so much a day! -

Now I have a fever of 100.
jesabuck30 replied to Cindi2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out and have had a fever almost daily off and on.... It was 100 earlier tonight and now is normal without Meds. I was seen 4/28 and had labs and urinalysis without a finding! I have read that sometimes when your body is burning fat it can cause body temp fluctuations, but I don't know how true this is but I am freaking out with this on off temp for a month.....Hmmmm -

Don't over use protein in a single shake, the body only uses 30 grams per meal.,if you drink it all at the same time your body doesn't benefit! -
medical bracelets for Sleevers?
jesabuck30 replied to skinnygirlwithin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah why no antibiotics? This would have definitely been a possible reason I would not opt for WLS had I known.... Were they trying to kill me in the hospital by giving them to me? WTH -
