My stomach feels no different, but when I eat, air constantly travels back up my esophagus and makes crazy noises! I know I am full when either the food feels like a brick or cramps in my stomach, or I start to hiccup. Being "hungry" is different as well. It is no where near as intense as it used to be. For me, I am loving the fact that after only 34 days I am already starting to feel differently about food. I was so looking forward to soft foods and eating this and that. Now two or 3 bites and it feels weird and I don't get the pleasure that I used to from it. Hopefully, I am on the track toward "eating to live" not "living to eat".

1 Week Stall already!?
LFitz66 replied to butterfly2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the same- lost 12 lbs in the 2 1/2 weeks after surgery and then stalled for 12 days. I lost 1.5 lbs this weekend and I hope it keeps up. I look at it this way- I wasn't hungry! I had the same fears. I thought for sure that they didn't even do anything because liquids went down pretty easily. Trust me, the restriction will start when you move on to pureed, soft and solid foods. Shoot for around 4 oz of liquid about every 15 minutes.

So i have the 3 week stall ugh
LFitz66 replied to scottswifey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 10 of no weight loss (surgery was April 7th). It is discouraging, but I keep telling myself that I am not hungry at all so it's not like pre-surgery when you would restrict calories, exercise, drink water AND starve all day and night! LOL -
Those who self-paid: will insurance generally cover complications?
LFitz66 replied to Sandyryan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly doubt it. I checked with mine, BCN, and they would not. However, if I do need my gall bladder removed in the future they will cover that- they can't prove that the surgery caused them. My physician will order blood work regularly for me to check for deficiencies. -
Ugh! 2week liquid diet! How did you do?
LFitz66 replied to cushy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you allowed Protein drinks? My pre-op diet included them. I used the unjury products- 1 for Breakfast, the Soup for lunch, 1 for an afternoon snack and another for dinner. Other than being boring I wasn't starving with the high protein intake. The premier Protein Drinks from costco are also really good. Below are the ingredients for the Unjury products. Are you allergic to any of them? Ingredients: whey Protein Isolate, Fructose, Cocoa powder (Alkali Processed), Natural Flavors, Soy Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Potassium Chloride. -

Back to work-Nosey co-workers
LFitz66 replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was only out for a week which was my spring break so it worked out great. I have only told a very few select people. When people comment or ask about my weight loss I simply say that I am eating a lot less and exercising 100% - the truth! If I had had complications, I was prepared to say that I had my gallbladder removed:) -
I was 210 starting weight and even though I am only 3 weeks out, it has been worth it for me so far. It has reset my focus to exercise and to remember to put my health and food choices first. Also I was afraid of the Water consumption as well, but I can still drink a lot. You will see that liquids go down pretty easily.
-
I figured since we are not getting much water through food consumption that our bodies much be using it far more efficiently. All my pre-surgery blood work was really good so I don't think it kidney failure , but it seems quite weird to not have to go throughout the day or at least shortly after finishing a 16 oz bottle of water. Stephsjourney- let me know what he says:)
-
Do our bodies absorb more of the Water now??? I have been trying my best to get the recommended 64 oz of water a day in, and typically get 48-64oz. In the past, when I drank this much water I would urinate constantly- multiple, multiple times a day. Now, not so much- maybe three times and then once in the night.

So i have the 3 week stall ugh
LFitz66 replied to scottswifey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well clearly we are all in same boat so it must be a real thing! I lost 16 pounds in the 2 weeks pre-surgery and 12 lbs in the first 2 1/2 weeks after and nothing since. In fact, I went up a pound today- seems impossible. I am getting in all of my protein, getting most of my water and walking everyday. It is supposed to be a rainy, wet, yucky week here in Michigan. Hopefully next week will bring sunshine and dropped numbers on the scale. -
What was your Infamous Week 3 Stall experience?
LFitz66 replied to NotSoTall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be at three weeks on Monday and have been losing steadily so far. My surgeon said that it is important to focus on inches lost during stalls so on Sunday I am going to take my measurements to hopefully motivate me should the scale stop moving. -

I use the Unjury shakes. They taste pretty good and are the right consistency for after being the sleeved. I love having the unflavored to add to other foods to help get your protein in. Whatever you choose you want to make sure that it is high in protein, low in sugar and FULL of vitamins.

when to start vitamins?
LFitz66 replied to queenhelene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been crushing my vitamins and adding them to a shot of water.
