    My new AP Band

I seem to have the completely opposite situation. I was banded about two weeks ago and have just moved to mushies. If I do not chew like crazy and take my time with small bites, it either hurts like the dickens going down or I end up with massive PB/sliming. I am having to really control the size of my bites and how much I chew in order to eat. I wonder what the difference is?
  2. The first three days after surgery were awful. It got gradually better and by a week out, I was generally OK.

    Help! - I'm blind

I did some more checking into it. Apparently it is a specific combination of the anesthetic during the procedure combined with pain killers afterwards that can have this effect. It's supposed to be temprary and I am happy to report does appear to be improving.
  4. Just got banded yesterday and I'm having no fun at all. The recovery is very painful. One weird side effect, however, is that my vision has gobe all blurry. I cannot read and am having trouble just typing this note, Anybody had this happen? Might be the painkillers but am open to anyone else's suggestions.
  5. I started out wanting GPB but there was one stat which made my mind up for me as far as band over GBP: GPB Mortality Rate: 4% Band Mortaility Rate: 0% Losing weight is not important enough to risk my life if there is a less dangerous and equally effective alternative.
  6. I got banded yesterday and I'm awfully glad my wife is here. Frankly, this hurts! Especially the big incision. Maybe everyone else is tougher than me but it would have been very tough without help.

What do you tell people at work?

Told my wife and my best friend. No one else needs to know, especially not my family.
