I'm eerily calm. Slept like a rock. Check in at 11. My mouth feels like a desert and I'm waiting on a mirage to show up with g2 and crystal light and wait.....what is that???? Chicken broth and strawberry jello???I'm so excited to share this day and experience with all of you. I'm sure we are all going to do so great! Hugs! I'll check in on the other side. -
Coming up on the two week mark for surgery. My mind is going crazy thinking of all these questions. :/ What will my life look like in a year? How will I feel? What will I have accomplished that I couldn't have right now? So of course I'm throwing it all out to you guys my wls surgery family. Yes yes I'm already attached to you . My life has been a whirlwind the last couple of years. I gained custody of my niece and went from a single girl in an apartment with a dog to a single mom with a child and two dogs! I tried internet dating on and off for years and man oh man has that been a crazy ride! Funny that now my confidence is higher than it's ever been and my New Years resolution was no more dating for 2014. I wanted to concentrate on myself with surgery and I just started looking for a house to buy for my expanded amazing little family! That being said I'm getting older. I'm 34 and I'd like to think that someday I'll find that someone! I had a fleeting moment last summer where I thought I had found the one but it was just that a moment. How long do I wait before I get back out there? How is dating after wls? Any crazy stories?

I think you need more calories. Sounds like your getting enough Fluid. Remember your using the same amount of energy but eating way less. I would try adding one more shake in there and see how you feel. Do you have a NUT you can contact? -
I called out today! Stomach issues and headache from hell! I'm not sick I'm not sick I'm not sick. Mind over matter. A day of rest is all I need.!

I must say I started this journey about four years ago. I started the process for gastric surgery then but ended up losing over 50 lbs on my own and thinking that I could do it all by myself so I dropped out. I then started it again about two years ago and the same thing happened. So I dropped out again. I dont seem to have a problem losing that first 50lbs but keeping it off is the issue. Everytime I gain the weight back I just feel worse. I hurt worse. My joints just are not made to carry this much weight! I have to admit that the first two times I was doing this all for the wrong reasons. Well, at least to for me it was the wrong reasons. I just wanted to be thinner and look better. I wasnt so much focused on the health portion. Now, this last year I have really been working on myself. I have the best self esteem I have had in my adult life. I can look in the mirror and actually like who I am and what I see but the health thing is a concern. I really want to be able to run with my little girl and have no hold ups. That is more important to me and being there for her for life. So, now surgery is finally booked for April 16th and Im so nervous. I dont want to lose the new self esteem I have gained and not like what I see in the mirror! I know that it may just give me more self esteem but the fear of the opposite is consuming me. Is this normal to have so much doubt after your surgery is finally booked!?!?!

Hi Everyone! As my Surgery date quickly approaches I know that some of us as I have had some STINKIN THINKIN going on! Yes, we are afraid of the unknown. Who isnt? We doubt our decision to have WLS. Im sure everyone who has had followed through with this had a doubt there somewhere. I just wanted to step in here and be all of our cheerleaders!!!! Lets just call this my last rant and rave! We are not the first to feel this way and we will not be the last. This wasnt a decision that we made lightly. We took our health into concideration and decided to yes, what some may say, go to extremes. We are doing this for the right reasons though. We are doing this to have a better more healthier life. Yes we could continue to yoyo diet, excersize with our own personal trainers while the extra funds are still there to do so, but the chances of gaining it back without this tool is so much higher. Yes, we need to battle what initially caused this and I think for most of us its just an unhealthy relationship to food and excersize. We can overcome this and jump start to the rest of our lifes!! I dont know about the rest of you but I wasnt living a life. I am just existing in one. Im missing out on so much! I know this road isnt going to be easy. Im going to be in pain for awhile. Im going to be on a emotional rollercoaster for awhile. Im going to have to beat myself up to get off my lazy bum and workout and monitor everything that goes into my mouth (shouldnt I have already been doing this before surgery) Im going to have to take Vitamins every single day for the rest of my life. Im going to lose hair. I may even lose some friends along the way.......................BUT I, WE, are worth it! I FOR ONE, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, VOW TO STOP MY STINKIN THINKIN and LIVE MY NEW WLS LIFE ON A POSITIVE NOTE! If it hurts its only for today, if I lose hair its only for a short time period, if I lose friends, they werent friends to begin with, if I have gas and constipation, in time this too shall pass I am wishing us all a more happier healthier self! Okay Okay I am done........for today! One week from today! YAY!- 1 reply

I think I just had my first NSV without dropping a lbs or inch. To realize that I have all these amazing people to share stories with and it brings a smile to my face even if I do not know you personally, I DO KNOW YOU ON A PERSONAL LEVEL! Thank you so much for sharing! -
I am currently pre op and having taken a different approach than some. I have told everyone that would be seeing me on a regular basis what I was kind of surgery I was having. I have had great responses. Even the couple that have said "Oh Im scared for you" and "but you do so well at losing weight on your own" (um have you not realized that everytime I lose 60 lbs I put it all back on?) have been supportive. I just didnt want to have to answer a bunch of questions about how i did it after knowing that I would already be dealing with some mental defeats of my own and an emotional rollercoaster ride in the first couple of months. As far as FB and IG, I have chose not to be so open. I started a private group and hid it. I added family and friends who I knew would be supportive and want to keep up on how I was doing. Its about 40 of my closest fb family people. I love all the support. I know I will run into this but I am ready. Ill have pics of all my Vitamins, my hair loss, my workout schedule, and pics of a normal meal through each of my stages. This is not the easy road and I will be spending more time on meals, workouts, suppliments, and mental health than I ever have in life all because I WILL BE A HAPPIER HEALTHIER ME and for once people like this person I will not put before myself. You really did handle this with such grace. Im not sure how I will but I will try to have as much class as you or maybe I will just use "BITE ME"

Im not upset with you at all for posting this. I am a week pre op and i need to hear that its not going to all be unicorns and butterflies and then hear this is normal because I am sure I will be going through the same thing and I dont want to feel like Im in this alone. So I thank you miss for venting where I can read and prepare for a month or two of hardship. I am sure of it though that in the end it will all feel like a distant dream and I will be happy about it. I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope that you start feeling the sunshine on your face and your beauty within come to the surface leaving you with no more regrets just a wonderful life and future to enjoy! HUGS!

One week from today! So, looks like it was definately allergies. I have started taken allergy medicine and feel a ton better. I just need to stay away from the sickies here at work!!!!!

LOL...Girl I hear you, three weeks ago I started getting sick and I panicked, My surgery is tomorrow. I started taking my vitamins, Since it was three weeks from surgery I took all the medicine I could and lots of water...Then the I became a germophobic at work..lol I carry the lysol wipes with me everywhere. And if someone was coughing I would stay away from them..I even went as far as to telling my son to stay away from anyone coughing in school..LOL So I can totally relate.

8 Days Left! Im not feeling super awesome. Kind of concerned that if I get this cold that everyone at work is spreading that they will reschedule me. I am on top of my vitamins so lets hope this achiness and runny nose is allergies :/

I like the premier already made shakes from costco, some walmarts, sams club, and walgreens. I have also tried and liked the dymatize ISO-100 from GNC and Vitamine Shoppe. Not sure how i will feel about them after surgery but for now they all taste like pudding! -
So there is one thing as a big girl I have always let's myself indulge in and that was shoes. No matter what size I was they always looked good . So now that I'm on this journey my girlfriend tells me that she lost two shoe sizes! Um noooooooo! I own over 50 pairs and I love them all. say it isn't so? Curious did you all lose shoe sizes? Sigh......so new clothes and shoes? Hmmmm just might have to take both clothes and shoe shopping to a whole new level! lol!!!

So somehow, in the middle of all this I somehow am going on a date tonight! Yea, totally not sure how the heck that happened since I wasnt even looking but Im just going to go with it!

PhatCat oh yes! I'm normally in bed by 9 and 2am is the new norm. :/. I know I just need to make it to surgery day and all will be fine. I think I just have too much darn time to think. I ran a red light this morning because of lack of sleep I think. :/ I've done enough thinking though and running through every scenario possible that I am mentally prepared for all that comes along with this. I think nerves is normal. I just hope I don't give myself an ulcer before the 16th comes. Then I also have the super excited feeling and anxious like I wish I was over this hump already. I know that we will be fit and fabulous really soon. Trying to stay positive. We got this. -
