  1. Down 55 lbs. from my highest weight - now, at 233, I can: ride rides at Legoland with my son comfortably, go to the pool and not feel embarrassed, cross my legs (!!!), climb stairs with ease (up and down), go shopping or work all day without feeling like I am going to die. No more knee pain, foot pain, swollen legs, feet and ankles! So happy and so looking forward to even more NSVs!! I need to edit my stats and ticker - very out of date!

what foods YOU cannot eat anymore?

I am 5.5 weeks out - I can't eat mixed nuts (got soooo sick!!!) or dry chicken or fish. If I mix them with mayo or a sauce, they go down fine. I have not yet tried bread, rice, or any foods with sugar - I am afraid that I will dump, or that I won't dump and I will start craving sugar!!
  3. Hello everyone! I am 3 days out (surgery was Wed., 4/30) and am feeling pretty good! Still some trapped gas in my left shoulder - I am trying to walk it out. The abdominal gas has mostly dissipated, and have had 2 BMs (thanks to Milk of Magnesia). Have had no nausea at all since early Thursday morning, and no vomiting or other issues. Feel so blessed to have had no complications. My main incision (I guess where the port was) is somewhat sore but only when I sit a certain way. My dr. had to repair a hiatal hernia while he was doing my RNY - I did not even know I had it! Anyone else have that happen???
  4. Eating some chicken broth with unflavored Unjury right now! Two days post op and a little sore but so happy!

    April 2014 pre-op group

Today is day 7 of my preop diet and it seems to be getting a little easier!!! I can have 4 prepackaged "New Direction" (like optifast) diet foods a day, plus 4 oz. lean meat and unlimited green veggies. The diet food is pretty bad but the serving of meat and veggies helps. Plus unlimited sugar free jello, popsicles and crystal light. I am so ready for my surgery it's not even funny. I have moved from scared, to anxious, to slightly nervous, to impatient! LOL
