Veterans of Bypass Surgery: Did you begin to lose your sense of hunger?
SASHA-RAQ replied to VDB's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I really could not eat the first few months very little appealed to me. As a matter of fact the first month I disliked being around food. I increased my feedings over the months and a little into month 6 I noticed true hunger. I have to admit it scared the mess out of me. Currently 1.5 yr's out - some days like last week, I had to force feed. Today I have been eating more than usual so don't get scared about fluctuations. Just remember to eat and stay on top of Water and Vitamins. Pretty soon your body will give you a nudge every few hours to eat a small portion. -

How many of you didnt need plastics?
SASHA-RAQ replied to lopez948's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your going to miss that butt lol I have to squat heavy to get mine to bubble out. I had plastics years prior to surgery which, well years prior I didn't know i was going to get RNY so obviously i would have held off. I also had a little suprise pregnancy so I would def get a tummy tuck now but mine is not bad at all I just want a crazy flat stomach. When I bend over there's a little ripple but nothing hangs down. My arms are not as tight as i like but I think weightlifting will fix those up. Just stay hydrated, lotion up and lift, some people's excess skin really isn't bad. -
I was curious if anyone is exhibiting compulsive behavior. Shopping, drinking, sex, drug use. You don't have to disclose the exact case but I am just curious if you do infact have them. For example I had a friend who never touched a drug become a user she is several years post op. I have found that I am drinking white wine more than I should. Instead of a few glasses I would like to limit it to one glass of red. Maybe transfer addiction? we cannot have a love affair with food so we find something else to gravitate to...your thoughts. I know there have been articles stating there is no valid research there is a link...I think that is bs and s o m e peoplle are just more prone to it.

Who, if anyone, did you tell?
SASHA-RAQ replied to bbrown527's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
HI! Noone, I just didn't feel comfortable disclosing and feel it is a personal decision and my business. My family and medical team know that's it. The only exception for me would be if a random morbidly obese person were to inquire I would definitely give up the details. I feel they are entitled. -

I told no one but fam. and the one who was opposed(my brother) his response when I saw him yesterday was ddaayyyum..enough said. If you are like most of us and have done Atkins,WW,phentermine, carb cycling, low carb....this is no cop-out it is a reset.Forget those who REFUSE to understand that! This is for you! Best of luck!

Insurance... Does anyone have medicaid?
SASHA-RAQ replied to tigerlily14's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes Oct.29 2013 . My 1st month was horrible, due to hematoma from chronic cough right after surgery. It took a little over a month for it to dissolve, so painful. I would do natural childbirth over that any day! But even though I endured that pain I do NOT regret my decision! You will be so happy your WORLD changes...every aspect mark my words you will be ecstatic! Like every surgery there may be a few weeks of depression after prepare, but you may not experience this just keep it in mind and trust in the process. -

SASHA-RAQ replied to tigerlily14's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Very welcome I freaked because they would not do the stress test so I thought I was denied ....they failed to tell me ins. said it was mandatory yet they deemed it not necessary(????). 2 weeks stress overly nothing! REST EASY! -
Insurance... Does anyone have medicaid?
SASHA-RAQ replied to tigerlily14's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wellcare of Ga.anyway has a 6 month supervised diet, psych eval, endoscopy, sleep study, cardio (ekg)mine took crazy long due to all kinds of foul ups along the way ( not my doing) complications with paperwork Dr. Vacations etc.and a sleep study Dr who needed to milk all he could off ins.(unnecessary tests) if you already have a CONSISTANT work up of monthly visits w/your pcp with documented meds co-morbs you should have 6 months max if all gets scheduled in a timely manner to complete before submission to insurance.(After sub. 4 wks) Make sure your Dr. has letter of medical necessity and that there are no " gaps" in treatment otherwise you will need to do a redo. -
Ladies, facial hair after WLS.... WTH, why is it worse? And does it get better?
SASHA-RAQ replied to CrazyJaney's topic in Rants & Raves
No..no experience with that....not yet anyway but there are schools that need hours of practice time before being certified?????? Like esthiticians office (laser removal), that may be an option. -

Hi all I had RNY on Oct.29 2013. I cannot go to my support groups at my center(too far) and I have relocated to Savannah, Ga. and have searched for support here and nothing has materialized. If you are pre-op I can help with questions. I jumped through some serious hoops and had so many setbacks. When I finally had surgery I had complications that took me over a month to recover from, but I would do it 100 times over! If post op I could sure use someone to talk to as well.I really have no one to speak to about this as it seems people who have not been "modified".... well it feels like I am a burden or,they can't relate. HELP : )
