I have had 2 dizzy spells today...pretty strong, and both have been while sitting down. All of a sudden, I feel very dizzy. I'm almost 4 months post op and get plenty of water in and have had no troubles eating. Any suggestions/input?

How long does that plateau typically last? -
How many calories should you take in throughout the soft foods phase? And when you get to the normal foods phase?

Getting sick and the picc line

Im so sorry you're having troubles. Im suprised they had you 'chewing' anything. My surgeon has a rule of broths only for the first 3 weeks and then 3 more weeks of soft foods. Did they have you eating straight out of surgery? Praying for your rapid healing. -
I'm on the way to the hospital rt now! Im beyond nervous. Any last min words of advice? Any post op food ideas? I have to do "full liquids" for 3 weeks. Eeeeekkkk!!!

How long did you have to wait to drink alcohol post op? I'm not a big drinker at all, but am curious as to how long it will be before I can have a drink or two with the girls at happy hour. Thanks!

Surg Date Scheduled! Need Input!

I just wrote all of this down. Thank you! -
So, my surgery date is rapidly approaching, 30 March! Yikes. Nerves are setting in and I am trying to prepare. I would appreciate any input I can get about the top things you needed in preparation FOR your surgery and the top items needed AFTER surgery. What are your fav protein drinks? Bars? Would a Nutri Bullet come in handy? Just any input any of you could give would be so appreciated. I'm so crazy nervous! Thank you!!!

So, I am In the process of going through tests prior to scheduling my gastric sleeve surgery and was told todat that I have a condition where my stomach doesn't empty as easily as it should. They referred to it as Gastroperesis (stomach paralysis). He thinks it could have been caused by a lapband I had years ago, but he cant be sure. He said getting the sleeve could cause that to get better or it could remain the same but that it wouldn't make it any worse. Has anyone heard of this issue or proceeded with the sleeve after being diagnosed w this issue?

Dr. Nick Nicholson Plano, Tx.

Thanks so much for the responses and information! -
Has anyone used this physician? I had my preop this past week and was not at all impressed with his bedside manner. He was majorly rushed (so it seemed) and never even discussed the procedure with me other than to tell me 1 in 3,000 have a leak and that the leaks are typically caused by eating solids too soon, so he made me aware that he is strict about that rule. Other than that, he rushed me out and told me people would call me to sched an upper GI and an endoscopy (I think thats what its called...where they put a scope down your throat)? I was just shocked that he didnt really review the procedure with me. Isn't that odd?
