    Today was bad. I don't know if my cycle is coming or what. I gave in and had sherbet hoping that would help but it made it worse. I eventually suckefd on a Reeses peanut butter cup and then to make things worse I had 3 oreos soaked in milk. Now I'm sitting in bed mad and feeling terrible that I gave in

    I chew gum because since my surgery I have case of bad breath. The doctor said it was ok.

    gas, gas and mo GAS!

    That is so funny. Im on soft foods but nothing interests me or im too scared to try it. But yesterday I had some microwavable mashed potatoes with cream of chicken soup (my gravy). It was like sex, chocolate and waking up with a million dollars in the bank. it was soooooooooo good. I'm thinking about doing the same today
  5. I agree. Because right now i am at week 3 and at a stall. It is frustrating and not scheduled for a fill until 4/22. But like everyone has said don't get discouraged it gets better.

    18 days Post Op

    I am 18 days post op and a little confused and frustrated. I was finally able to get all my protein in. I've been exercising by walking and doing spin. Unable to do anything else because of a hernia. I lost 19 pds on pre op diet. My taste buds have changed so much. The only food I enjoy is yogurt,protein shake, mashed potatoes and soup.im eating under 1000 cals a day. I tried eggs and they were ok. I'm on the pureed stage but nothing interest me. What can I do. The scale won't move down. It seems to be moving up. My first fill is on 4/22. I'm feeling like this was a mistake.
  7. My surgery was on 3/13 and an outpatient procedure. I prepared my room the night before by having meds,music,clothes and books on nightstand. I cleaned my apartment and washed clothes beforehand. I have two yorkers so I enlisted a neighbor to help with them. I took music and a book to hospital and my own socks. I was dropped of at hospital hours before my surgery do that allowed me to unwind and read. Walking after surgery helped me tremendously.

    Is it just me?

    Is it me or did anyone else experience this. Yesterday was a little rough for me. I wasn't feeling well but ok. I did what I knew I shouldn't have done.... got on the scale. I know i'm just 2 weeks out from surgery and I am still healing and bloated. What triggered the scale was someone at work said " Hey your hips are bigger than mine now.. lol""" Needless to say I was hurt (don't know why) but i felt self-conscious for the remainder of the day. I do my best to get in my Protein daily or close to it. I eat under my 1000 calorie limit every day. I track my meals down to the Vitamins and benefiber on fitness pal. When I get the urge to eat something I should I drink Water or go walk around my department. I make sure that i don't eat and drink (i time it like a hawk). Last night i went to bed saying why did I do this, when will I be normal again. Then to top it off i'm dealing with this bad breath thing despite scrubbing my tongue and mild constipation. What am I doing wrong. I realize it will not happen overnight but it doesn't change the fact that sometimes it can be disappointing.Sorry for the vent. I just wanna go home and cry.

    what is everyone doing to stay healthy? Tell me what workout you're doing, how are you staying motivated, and what are your exercise gOals? I will start it off. Because I had a hernia I can only do mIld exercise so today I walked 2 miles on the treadmill tomorrow I will aim for 3

    I'm going to alternate days walking in the gym and walking the trail from where I live so I can get some exercise we it the dogs. I can't wait until I can lift weights and work with a trainer

    Getting started

    I agree with lisa... walk walk walk and the heating pad. I went back to work that Monday following my Thurs procedure and purchased a heating pad for work too. It was a life saver.

    Yogurt?

    What is the best yogurt everyone has found? Has anyone tried ACTIVIA? I've seen several people say FAGE, what type,flavor? For the coffee lovers, When did you start back drinking coffee. I am a starbucks addict, I love the Caramel Machiatto. Haven't tried to drink one but the barista said that she could make one decaf,no fat milk,sugar free syrup. What are your thoughts? Has anyone tried muscle milk Protein drinks? I've been using the whey Protein powder but I think it doesn't agree with me too well. Sorry for all the questions.
  16. GReat job on your loss. This weekend I had to force myself to eat because I was not hungry. I had a yogurt after the gym and before I realized it was 2pm. I just have not been as hungry as I thought. My fitness pal has helped alot with letting me visually see what I am eating and seeing where I need to add more nutrition. Last night I did have a really upset stomach, no vomiting or nausea just upset. So today I'm really not feeling the food thing today.But overall I love my band

    Up and down

    Heating pad and walking helped me tremendously. I had the heat I no pad that you put in microwave and it worked wonders.the gas pain does go away. I urge you to walk. My pain was mostly in my shoulders and center of my chest. It does get better
  18. Ok. I have a the 24 oz cup that I purchased from Starbucks. This morning I fixed me a smoothie(1 containergreek nonfat individual size,4 strawberries,1 scoop protein whey,ice and 2 oz leftover naked protein smoothie). It filled the cup almost to top. I started sipping at 650 and finished it at 950. Did I drink it to fast? I was able to get in 30 grams of protein from the yogurts and whey. I'm not hungry at all. I want to start drinking water but don't know if I should wait an hour before drinking anything else.

    Thanks. I won't make the mistake of making so much again. Definitely learned a lesson today. I appreciate all the help you guys. I don't want to mess up my 2nd chance at a healthy life.

    Lisa I am banded 3/13. My thinking was to get my protein in. My instructions suggested drinking 5 cans of some type of protein throughout the day. I want to make sure I get my 63grms in. Because I'm so busy at work some days lunch doesn't happen. I usually will sit down to eat lunch around 2 or 3. I'm still not hungry but also on the go. I don't have access to bring a blender to work and the work fridge is a work fridge:( so I have to bring things that can just stay cool with those little gel packs.

  23. I was banded on the 13th and I am on the full liquid diet. I have not tried to eat anything else for fear of getting stuck or vomiting. Believe me I thought about it. I do find my self hungry at times. I'm hoping the increased protein helps. I'm going to make smoothies for breakfast with protein in them and a few grits. I've found that ducking on candy helps me. But other ladies may have better suggestions than me.
