I am also 3 mths out and at 30 lbs since surgery .I have always been a slow loser thats why I had the surgery but I didn't count on continuing to lose slow. Some people said I wasn't eating enough and increase calories. So I did and nothing has changed yet.I am worried because I know its only going to get slower.Tomorrow 8/8 will be my 3 months and I have only lost 36 pounds. I see where others have lost 50 or more!!

Thank you I definitely will be talking to him because I can't continue to be in this kind of pain every monthDear newbeginning...So sorry for your problems. Maybe you can talk to your doc about some better options. Hang in there! Hugs to you.

My menstrual cramps have been so severe since surgery im having to take norco the first day or two since no ibuprofen. A friend of mine had the sleeve 2 years ago and insisted she can still take ibuprofen because her surgeon said she could take it sparingly needless to say she just had to convert to bypass to fix all the erosion from the ibuprofen. I definitely need to look into other options because i cannot continue to go through this severe pain every month

I am 10 weeks out and i was able to do about 3-4 bottles of water a day lately I am lucky if I finish 2 it seems to be getting harder for waterAnyone have trouble with getting plain ol' Water down? Before surgery I could drink gallons, I swear! Now, I can't get down plain water. I have to flavor it...it's getting slightly better, but it feels like water is just too "heavy" for my sleeve.

thank you@@newbeginning77 - I really am so sorry! I completely understand! I have a few suggestions - though no guarantees for any.
- I saw one suggestion where the poster's dr said to take a dose of MOM at 7 and then 2 Colace at 10 p.m. and should have relief the next day. I did the 2 Colace at bedtime and it worked, but the next time I tried it did not.
- If you are taking pain meds still, call your dr. They can prescribe a med that works for "opiod induced constipation".
- I went to an acupuncturist today for help. It was odd (I hadn't done that before), but I am game. He said it will take a few times to do much good, so I am going to go a few more times. In the meantime, I saw this video on You Tube yesterday, and I did the massage thing on my stomach they suggested, and I had great success this morning without any pain! Now, I also only had liquids yesterday and made sure I didn't take any meds (not even vitamins), so I don't know which specific thing worked, but I don't care as long as it worked! Here is the link to the video - https://youtu.be/dklVFMw7P1Y Won't hurt to try it - I think!
Good luck! I will let you know how my acupuncture goes. Call your dr tomorrow since it's Friday so you aren't miserable over the weekend and see what they can suggest.

i am going through the same thing right now for the past month every 2-3 days i am beyond constipated n sitting on toilet crying i was taking mom which doesn't work that well but i can't keep taking all the time i don't know what else to do.i am miserableSo I had to stay home from work today AND missed a dr appt because I could not actually leave the restroom from the Constipation and difficulty passing. It was awful - AGAIN! I have taken Colace (3 yesterday and 2 pretty consistently every day and only working occasionally), added Benefiber (think it is making it worse), Milk Of Magnesia (seems to work but gives diarrhea for the next 24 hours so I can't leave the restroom for other reasons). I called the dr office and left a message and actually starting crying because I am that miserable and frustrated - AND my tailbone and bladder hurt from where it is pushing on it and I have hemorrhoids and possibly a fissure. Anyway, NP from surgeon office called back and said this may happen the rest of my life. Constipation is a side effect from RNY. Really?! OMG! I have never experienced this kind of pain and frustration except when I had bilateral ureter stents for 3 weeks. At least I could take pain med for that! If I take pain med, it makes the constipation worse. They had given me a sample of Amatiza which is a very strong laxative and the first time I took it, I seriously nearly passed out and had chills. The solution is taking this med twice a day (instead of Colace and Benefiber) and hope that it gets me back to regular. I have not tried Miralax yet but I have in the past and felt it wasn't much better than other solutions. I am still on pureed / soft foods so I really really hope this will get better as time progresses and food progresses. (BTW, NP said as long as I am still going every 3 days, it isn't an emergency and hopefully the Amatiza will get me regular enough to get rid of the stools that cause such pain.) Sorry I am rambling, but I just needed to vent a little. I am so discouraged about this. I cannot keep missing out on life for this problem. This is not why I had the surgery.... combined with the morning nausea, vomiting (probably my fault because I ate too fast) and inability to eat in the morning (because of the nausea), I am beyond discouraged.

I am getting so discouraged mine is moving soooo slow. I don't know what to do to make it speed up

Is the 30 lbs loss since surgery or is that including preop
-
Wow 48 lbs. That is great. I was sleeved may 6 im getting in about 550 calories but that includes my 2 Protein Shakes a day. My coworkers who have had it done say im not eating enough but I don't feel like I can do more at this time. Im getting really discouraged I am only down 19 lbs since surgery I don't see how I can eat that little and not lose.My nutritionist is on vacation so not sure how much I should be eating at this point.Hey there I'm post sleeve as of May 8, 2015 and I'm taking in a max of 500 calories, how are you guys eating? I just started working out 2 weeks ago where I usually burn a minimum of 400 calories. Oh, one more thing I've lost a total of 42lbs since May.
-
I am 6 weeks out and I have only lost 16 lbs. I have not cheated I Am only getting in 3-4 oz for Breakfast lunch and dinner and I do two Protein shakes a day only getting in about 3 bottles of water. I am getting so discouraged.
-
glad to hear your doing better you will be full speed soon .good luckKidney panels are better I haven't worked out yet and I'm a little freaked out about it. My pain levels are low now and I just want to be at full speed. But I go in now just twice a week for kidney panels.

how are you doingRhabdomyolysis
Is what they said I have in ER. Along with a 4mm kidney stone. Apparently 3 hrs of extreme workout followed by yard work in 95 degree weather can damage your kidneys and your body can instantly create kidney stones ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1433736449.826443.jpg this picture isn't coffee btw

i completely feel your pain I lost 11 lbs the first 2 weeks and then the scale didn't move for 21 days. It was really getting to me because I couldn't understand it since the doctors say as long as you follow it will come off.finally yesterday it dropped 2 lbs. I really hope that this long stall is over.a stall after losing 93 pounds is just totally not the same as losing 9 pounds the first 3 weeks after surgery.
laguerr13, what exactly are the positives of this? i'm a perfectly mentally healthy rational person and not a patient (i noted that you work "in a psych setting"). i assure you i do not belong in a mental ward. the scale tells me i'm still 100+ pounds overweight. there's nothing wrong in focusing on the fact that i'm not losing weight when i should be and that i have 100 pounds of fat that doesn't seem to be budging despite eating 500 calories a day. i'm not sure what's healthier about having surgery to remain on a liquid diet if the results are the same.
again, regarding recovery, i have not been in pain, tired, or nauseated. i don't care about eating. i have a FT job and a business and 3 children. i don't have time to worry about food. i drink my shake and move on with my day (it has the added bonus of giving me much more time!). yes, i walk on my treadmill. yes, i'm doing everything. yes, i'm on a timetable - the first six months are crucial and it appears that nothing is happening. i've blown through almost an entire month, and this is the "fast" weight loss portion. my body fat percentage hasn't changed either.
i'd be delighted to hear supportive comments from people that experienced the same issue - extremely slow loss during their first few weeks after surgery. did you end up losing weight? did you end up needing a DS? did you need to cut/increase carbs? i am looking for actionable advice (my doctor has none) that will actually help me tweak what i'm doing so i can lose weight. i am also interested to hear from others that had very little post-op weight loss how well they stuck to their pre-op diets. it seems the rest of my surgical crew is losing tons of weight - and NONE of them stuck to their diets (me, I stuck to it perfectly).

Mine also have been severe since surgery i could barely walk had to do hot showers heating pad Tylenol wasn't working so had to take 1/2 a norco leftover from surgery
-
I am in the same place sleeved may 6 and only down 11 lbs nothing in 2 weeks. I am about to start solids but im worried if i start eating food again am i going to gain. I have been worried this isn't going to work
-
So everyone that is 4 weeks out or more im so confused on what to start eating they said slowly introduce new food's what is everyone eating
-
that is great your doing good. How many times a day are you eating i feel like im doing this wrong i have only lost 11 lbs in almost 4 weeks i don't know what to doI am cleared to eat anything I can handle. I am down a total of 30 pounds and feel great. I lost 6 pre-op.
I made Parmasean cheese crisp tonight. They are a little piece of heaven. I enjoyed chewing something crispy and it was not bad for me.
Take Shredded parm cheese and put into bottom of muffin tins, just enough to cover the bottoms. bake for ABOUT 6 minutes at 300 degrees, watch carefully. They will stiffin up after they are out of oven.
I suppose this is old hat to a lot of you but, just incase someone does not know.
Tomorrow I am going to have a naked cheese enchilada and some Beans.

everyone seems that be losing so much I am 3 1/2 weeks out and only down 11 lbs im really starting to get discouraged because if im not losing while im barely eating how am i going to lose when I start eating food ugghhSo as we go into June. I just wanted to wish all my May Sleevers good luck. Had my surgery may 12th. Doing good. 23 pounds down. Next week I'm starting on solid food. Looking forward to that. My energy level is low because I'm not drinking enough Water so I am working on that .

im getting all my protein in still with my shakes i haven't really felt full yet because i don't think im allowing myself to eat enough to be full im just going by my nut guidelines says not to eat more than 1/4 c at a time until i progress to regular foods so i measure out and stopI know I've had head hunger and thankfully been able to find a way distract myself from it. @@newbeginning77 are you able to get all your Protein with those measurements? How does your body tell you thay you're full?
