I am 11 months post sleeve. My high wt was 224 lbs, surgery day weight 211 lbs, current wt fluctuating between 135 and 139 lbs. I am 4'11 3/4 in. I have been at this wt for a couple months now and maintain it. My old cravings have been returning in the last 3 weeks(which I knew from others would happen). Sometimes I can resist, especially if I look up my tempation on My Fitness Pal. Other times I try to drink more fluid or eat a piece of fruit...I am ashamed to say that sometimes I have given in to the craving anyway(last night I ate a big bowl of Cocoa Krispies and 2 Hershey Kisses...I don't want to regain the weight, but sometimes my brain has other ideas. I feel like a failure. Any/all advice is appreciated. HELP!! Thank you!

Fiber and 'Keeping Things Moving' (Toilet Talk)
JulsOT replied to almosthome's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Benefiber has been helpful for me on advice of other sleevers. I use it in coffee, oatmeal, other things but mainly coffee. It dissolves completely and you can't tell it's in there. The Fiber one bars were helpful too, but has the side affect of gas. My gastroenterlogist explained that since sleevers are taking in less food volume, the colon perceives it doesn't have to "move things along" as frequently as normal. Miralax helps some people, also(recommended by my gastro doc) but didn't help me as much as the Benefiber. Looks like your on the right track with eating. Good luck!! -
I am 5 months out and have lost 55 lbs. I have hit a plateau. I haven't really lost in the past 3-4 wks. I have signed up for My Fitness Pal but I don't know how to use a lot of things on it, especially for my smart phone (Android). any suggestions/tips would be most appreciated both for using My Fitness Pal and how to break the plateau.

3 week stall at 3 months, halfway to goal
JulsOT replied to karensdRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon also told me the wt loss is less dramatic if you only have 70-90 lbs to lose or lower BMI. I started at 211 lbs, surgery date 2/24/14, now down to 159, currently I am in a stall. I have trouble tracking everything I eat. Does anyone have difficulty using My Fitness Pal? I have difficulty using the app on my phone. -
Going on vacation for a week...wondering what type of supplements/snacks to pack? Any suggestons appreciated.

Help! I had a setback today and wonder how much I hurt myself.
JulsOT posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HELP! I had my sleeve surgery 2/24/14 and up to now have done relatively well, down 32 lbs so far. I slipped badly today(Easter) and ate at least 10 milk duds. I am so afraid my brain is trying to return to previously learned bad habits. I don't want to sabotage myself. Did I overstretch my stomach out? It sn't hurting, but who knows how it will be as it goes through my system. -
Questionable post op diet
JulsOT replied to aNewTanya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That does sound different! I was strictly on clear liquids in hospital, then full liquid, which included cream of wheat, yogurt, too. The nut section stated full liquid until week 5, but my surgeon put me on soft food at my 2 wk check. This particular hospital doesn't have a Pureed diet period per say. With the soft food, everything is chew, chew, chew! -
Anyone having difficulty drinking 64 oz fluid along with all the protein?
JulsOT posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery 2/24/2014. I have luckily not had problem with vomiting, very little nausea. My surgeon progressed me to soft food from full liquid diet 3/6/14. I am having trouble drinking 64 oz Fluid along with eating 4tbsp food 3x/day plus supplemental Protein to get all my intake. Any suggestions? -
I don't understand this site?
JulsOT replied to catnapper's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Catnapper. I too am new to this site and learning my way around to navigate. I just had my surgery on 2/24/14 and have so many questions that I hope I can learn from others on the site. It looks like there are some well thought out comments and suggestions I can learn from. Hang in there and just try reaching out like you have and hopefully you will find a lot of support on here from people who have gone through weight loss surgery also. I really admire you for doing this for yourself despite no support from your husband. I am very sorry he is not supportive, hopefully he will come around. Remember, you are a strong lady and just reach out to others, and I'm sure you will find support. -
Anyone else have trouble with protein intake?
JulsOT replied to reany237's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does drinking the Unjury chicken broth with water count as part of fluid intake? I am having problem with drinking 64 oz fluid, feel bloated after a few sips (surgery 2/24/14). I have been walking more, but it seems as soon as I drink anything I still feel bloated. Any suggestions appreciated.
